I go next Thursday. I am looking forward to it. I never find much to complain about anyway. Except the British weather (and at least I'll be escaping that!). As long as the sun shines I'll be happy.

Hi All

My girlfriend and I are going to the Golden Sharm Resort on the 26th August. Like allot of others we read the reviews for the wrong hotel and booked only after to find out what we had booked.

Can you do us a favour and put our minds at rest when you get back and tell us what it was like? I really dont mind if you lie! (joke)

Also, if you have any good hints or tips re medicines to take, what trips to go on etc.

I hope you all had a fantastic time anyway.

Hi i'm travelling to the Golden Sharm Hotel next week and i'm very concerned. Booked it ages ago and only this weekend managed to find reviews. As they all appear to be damning i'm seriously worried.

has anyone come back recently and got anything good to say about it

Thanks

Sharon

Hi Mennis, (Sharon)

We have applied for a change in accomodation but I have reached the stage where I dont care if we stay at the Golden Sharm Resort or not. Its quite refreshing to know there will be other Britts staying there with us!.

We arrive on the 26th for 2 weeks unless things change in the next day so maybe we can make a Britt corner between us!

Everyone rest at ease its a really nice hotel. Rooms spot on, cleaned immaculatly everyday. The food is nice not perfect but nice and you can buy a pizza for 2 quid on site and they are delicious! Is definatley more italians but every night the brits were always at the bar and the italians dont really drink...Entertainment not great but as I said brits always at the bars. The staff were great up for a laugh and love the brits.

Be very careful with taxi drivers they will try and con you, even the hotel taxis, you should only pay about 40 Egyptian pound to nama bay, and no more than 100 to airport although they try with 150. DO NOT go to Nama bay during the day you will be harrased into going into shops, evening is brill and the hard rock is really nice.

Overall an awsome hol Im jealous of anyone who is going...I'd love to still be there!

I Agree with Toner, I got back on 30th and really wish I was still at the pool bar drinking a nice refeshing beer. The staff are nice, rooms are cleaned daily and the food is good. There are plenty of resturants in Nama Bay we ate out most nights as the food is so cheap. I think it's nice that the hotel is mixed and not full of Brits it gives the feeling that you have actually gone abroad. Some entertainment is in Italian but funny none the less. It's very hot out there, I spent most of my time in the pool. Yep I'm jealous of everyone sunning themselves in the Golden Sharm enjoy!

I have been to come on line for the past two weeks - I totally back up the recent reviews. The holiday was AMAZING!! Much better than I expected - I had no real tummy problems, the hotel was very clean, fresh sheets every day, the pool was clean, the food was good, the staff were amazing and so friendly.

The hotel is very 'Italian' but it did not put us off - we just joined in! The entertainment was a bit lacking at times, but we got to know enough people to sit around and have a giggle - which is what it's all about.

In my humble opinion the holiday was worth every penny. Diet Coke would have been nice and maybe a coffee after dinner, but I didn't really miss those things in truth!

I am now looking to go back next year. Maybe try a different hotel but only because I want to snorkel in different areas. If anyone wants to know a good 'English' speaking diving school I can recommend one.

And the weather! Wow!

Im going to the golden resort (taken over and now called something like park inn) And cant wait! It all inclusive but to be honest I dont think I will be there much! With the red sea on the doorstep and the sun shining how can it be bad! I wanna do all the trips like boats and quads so if anyone knows the best place please advise!
Ive also read reviews of my hotel, one person is saying its horrid and the next loves it, so im not gonna worry until I get there! It cant be worse than crete last year! we shared are room with ******!!
