Hi I'm travelling to Egypt in August of this year and have booked to stay 2 weeks in the Golden Sharm Resort Hotel in Sharm el Sheik does anyone know anything about this hotel?

I have searched the net and all I can find is the hotels own site, no reviews or Operator sites with there own ratings. It is sold as being a 4* all inc beach front hotel, and I would like to know what to expect when I get there...Knowing my look it will be a mud hut in the middle of the desert with all the water you can drink. Anyone that can offer me any information I would much appreciate it.

Also what activities/trips are good, and where are the best places to book excursions etc? Thinking about going to the pyramids for a day, is it worth it?

Thanks Very much

Steve

We have just got back from the Golden Sharm and had a lovely holiday. Food was wonderful, large variety of all foods, including Egyptian foods, english foods, eurpoean, and others, certainly not just pasta!! and staff very kind and curteous, can't do enough for you. The all inclusive package does need a little tweeking but we always had enough to eat and drink. Very clean. Hotel rep was not the most reliable in the world, but always managed to help in the end. Is mainly Italians but even their rep was eager to include the english in events. Manager was very appraochable and always concened whether or not we were having a good time. Always made time to chat.

hi, just return from the Golden Sharm hotel had a lovely time it was well worth it, the only disappointment was its not beach front but only a 5 min walk or shuttle bus. The hotel is very clean and a really nice place to stay. The food was good with plently of choice and most of the staff were very helpful. We went all inclusive and it wasn't brilliant as you couldn't only get drinks from one bar and they did run out.

I would advise doing the lazy boat trip as me and my partner had a lovely time and saw some amazing fish and hundreds of dolphins.
i didn't personly go to the pyramids but met lots of people who did and they all said it was nice to see the pyramids but Cairo was a dump and it was a ripoff and advise doing the river nile trip instead.

The only mistake we also made was taking all egyptian pounds because the exchange rate is really high and alot of places dont take it, we wish we took more English.

Don't be to put off by any bad reviews cause i'm sure you will have a lovely time
