DONT LISTEN TO NEGATIVE REPORTS. We returned on Monday/Tuesday and had a great holiday. It was our 6th visit to Egypt and I have to say I was getting really worried reading some reports. I'm not sure what people expect - anyone travelling anywhere in the world is prone to stomach upsets simply because of the change in food and the heat. Also going from 95 degrees into a very cold air conditioned room can give you a funny tummy. This is no different. The Holiday Village compared favourably with all the other place we have stayed in Egpyt - but it is Egypt and you cannot expect things to be the same as at home. The food was good, hot and there was a reasonable choice, you could always find something to tempt you. And don't forget you can eat 3 times a week in the speciality restaurants where you are waited on. The hygiene standards by the staff were very good, but as someone said before, children helping themselves to cereal by the handfull rather than using a spoon, children taking cakes, without using the tongs, then putting them back because they saw somthing better are just examples of how germs can spread. We had no real problems with upset stomachs, yes a couple of times we were a bit 'loose' (sorry) but did not feel it was in anyway anything other than over indulgence of much richer food than we have at home. On one of our first days we went for a look around the local shops and we bought some pills so that we had them to hand but at the end of the holiday my husband had take just one. they are good to have anyway because they seem to work all over tha world where as our British ones don't.
The only reason we would not return is the fact that the place is very spread out and my husband is not good with walking. Luckily we had a swim up room so did not need to walk to the pool every day, but from our room the evening entertainment was such a long walk we only went once. There is no lift so anyone with problems ( Or even people with buggies ) had to struggle with stairs. Absolutely no good for wheelchairs. A young lady in an electric wheelchair could not get up to the lounge bar or the adult view bar, even the sports bar had one step to get up. The only bar she could reach was the pool bar.
My only other gripe is, I'm afraid, is about the behaviour of many a British child. The hotel does everything right. For snorkelling and playing around there is the sea, for children to scream shout, play loudly and run around there is the kids pool with water splashes etc. There is the main pool where most people gather to swim an d relax on lilos and there is an activities pool for people to play volleyball, water polo and noisy team games. There is also a QUIET pool for people who want to relax and read ( without kids screaming in your ear ). Sounds great- but parents who can't be bothered to walk to the kids pool just let their kids run riot around the quiet pool playing with large inflatable boats and screaming at each other. The swim up rooms are only for the people staying in those rooms, but often they let friends (sometimes with children) use the pool and what was a lovely quiet private pool becomes a battle ground. Once a boy from a family walking to the beach just jumped over a little hedge into our pool. His Mum said 'your not allowed in there' and the boy replied 'So what'. It is very sad that parents no longer seem to have control of their children and find it easier to let them do what they like. Many more examples could be given, but I already sound like an old grump - but I have paid as much to enjoy my holiday as everyone else and quite often it is unruly children that spoil it and yes I have had children and grand children of my own but they were never allowed to cause problems to other people, I consider that they are well behaved, yet still have fun and enjoy themselves without annoying anyone else.
For anyone going to HV have a great time, ignore the bad reports and just take sensible precautions to keep healthy, don't over indulge, drink fluids, keep the air conditioning at reasonable level ( not icy cold ), and have the pills handy just in case (taking one straight away usualy stops it fast).

Just got back - well almost midnight yesterday.
Absolutely excellent.
I've written a rather long review of the resort and when it gets uploaded I'll link to it.
I thought the holiday was 10++/10!!
- I've got a load of photos and videos to upload soon but I've got to edit them and

Hi can someone please help, I'm sure the answer is somewhere on here but there are 70 something pages to go through.
Can some please tell me what the beach is like and is there any good snorkelling sites within walking/swimming distance?
thank you
