| It will be hot.....very hot!
Shopping is OK....lots of tatt but also some good bargins to be had with perfumes, gold, silver.
Take only ££££....you will not need anything else!
Snorkling is amazing.....I saw hundreds of different types of fish this year just from the end of our hotels jetty.
Have a look through the Sharm thread....loadsa posts about your questions.

| The weather will be hot, but probably windy so it'll seem cooler.
Shopping in Naama Bay can keep you entertained for days as almost every shopkeper will stop you for a chat. Try and avoid the common tat that appears in every shop, and remember to barter or you will get ripped off.
Unsure if they accept other currencys in the shops, but they'll generally give prices in both Egyptian and English pound as it's so easy to convert.
It's one of the best places to go snorkelling, you can see hundreds of fish just by walking along jettys or being a few feet deep in water

| Naama Bay is lively at night, good fun if you can put up with the constant hassel of the shop keepers, be firm and polite and just say no.
The weather will be very hot. Be careful of ice in your drinks, make sure it is from bottled water. The hotels are not a problem but some places in the bay could be. Great place lovely people.

| Hi we too are going to the Marriott - I always take a mixture of currency - mostly sterling though as they have a better exchange rate - when I was there at Easter I was getting over 11 EGP to £1.

| Agree with comments to take Sterling & exchange over there. Use local currency to buy; if you use a hard currency, you'll be perceived as having lots of cash! Be prepared to barter - don't look desperate - you'll usually be able to find the same thing in many, many shops. If you walk away they will often follow & the price of the item will have dropped dramatically! Beware of the entrapments & attempts to draw you in. Hav ea goodlook round & then decide where to buy from.
There are many trips available - book thru your tour op, or more cheaply directly with the hotel or thru one of the many local tour ops over there.

| I am also going to Naama Bay in September.
I am going out to see my cousins who have lived out there for just over a year. one of them is a diving instructor, the photos that he sends us are amazing.
The weather should be about 35 degrees in september.
the currency out there is Egyptian pounds approximately 11.5 egyptian pounds to the English Pound. just remember that almost everything is imported so things are not cheap to buy. the food and drink is cheap but that is about it.

| We have just come back from two weeks in Naama Bay, it was very hot, over 40 degrees and not a lot cooler at night time!
The centre of Naama bay stays busy with shops, bars and clubs until about 4am
I would take a little Egyptian pounds just to last the first day then take either sterling or travellers cheques and change them there, there are no commission charges at the bank and the exchange rate is better than here!! we got 11.4 egyptian pounds to £1
snorkelling is awesome!!! even just on the beach but to make the most of it go on one of the boat trips to either Tiran Island or Ras Mohammed both wil cost arounf £30 for a full day, including lunch and soft drinks
when shopping always haggle you should only expect to pay about two thirds of the original price then say!!
you wont need jackets, jumpers or heavy trousers.jeans, too hot for them!!
I am already ooking to book to go back in April!!
Enjoy your holiday!!

| I stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort (sister hotel) from the 28th May to 11th June and it was amazing. You can access both Marriott Beach and Mountain as they are across the road from one another. However i seriously recommend the Marriott Beach as it has alot more facilities than the Mountain Resort.
The weather in Naama Bay whilst we were there, was unbelievably hot, in the cool time of about 1 am it was 38 degrees! most days it reached up to 42 to 45 degrees at the hottest part of the day.
Shopping in Naama bay is mad, everyone is trying to get into there shop or resturant, but take my advice don't choose one straight away, take a look round first, i gurantee you you will find a nicer place to eat nearer both ends ont the Naama Bay high street. The top 3 places we at were, the Marriott Beach buffet - (amazing, it had different themed night eg. oriental, barbeque), Zigolini - (an authentic italian resturant was just the best nights eat we had) and the Hilton Sharm Buffet-(everything and more). Most of the quieter but better restuarants are more pricey but worth it, they are mainly along the front of the Marriott Beach beach entrance, heading toward Naama Bay.
Currency is easy to transfer all over Naama Bay, but bring alot because it is very easy to spend alot, believe me. Also barter everywhere especially with taxis and buses, agree a price before getting in.
About the snorkelling we never went but i would definatley consider taking a trip on a submarine ride its absolutley fantastic! There is so much things to, we went for 14 nights and didnt manage to fit everything in, its such a beautiful place and wonderful people too.
Hope you have a great time.

| In my opinion, rhe best thing you do there is snorkelling and scuba diving..
Red sea is underwater heaven.
You are lucky : Naama Bay is the best diving place around Sharm..
I recommend you to learn the exact point of diving places first.
I think you should find google earth place marks (kmz file) etc..
A placemark I found at this page :
http://www.sharm-el-sheikh-egypt.co.uk/the-red-sea-underwater-scuba-diving.html
there are some diving places around this place mark.
For hotels holiday watchdog reviews is good enough i also think..
I wish this will be helpful.. Happy holidays!
