Hi Candy,
Have visited Egypt a couple of times in february but not in january. In feb it's always been a "chilly" 80 degrees F.
I have stayed at The Beach Albatros in Sharm. Travelled with Odyssey, part of Olympic. Not "The Ritz" but we had a really good holiday!
Snorkelling off the beach fantastic! Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was not gourmet but acceptable. Don't pack beach towels, they're supplied. All in all it's a value for money hotel.
Interested to know who you are travelling with as I have noticed it seems to have disappeared from the British travel companies brochures.
Hope january weather is o.k. as we are spending christmas/new year in Nuweiba this year. Apparently you may need a cardy/jacket in the evenings but the daytime should be just what you need to forget about chilly old Britain!
Regards,
Roger.
