Trips/Excursions - Sharm El Shiekh

hi glamrock, got back on thursday night, really great time and dead hot. I thought i would show you this for future reference for transfers etc. will post more details when i have recovered the hotel was awesome, the best i have stayed in Egypt and the AI was fab. luxor was also amazing and they private guide we booked was outstanding.

Great to hear from you and glad you had a fab time.
Have looked at that link and will definitely be using Saad.
Am keeping in touch with him and only in contact over the weekend.
Joanna has spoken about how much she enjoyed your company in Sharm.My time is approaching rapidly now.
Did'nt realise that Saad also arranged other activities until he mailed me over the weekend.

Had such a fab time, temps were scorching, you are gonna boil! Drank 5 litres of water per say and lost half a stone through sweat! Food at Ghazala great, we did eat out once or twice but cost less then �15 for two, Camel Bar do a lush, huge burger for �2.90, bargain, hubby ending up finishing it off for me. Luxor trip through RealEgyptLife was awesome, i shall do a thread on my luxor trip alone, was so faaab and worth having my own private guide. Loved it. Will post some pics when i get them downloaded. Wont be going to sharm for a bit now though, Cuba next year, three times to sharm in 12 months is enough for me. Two weeks flew by, we had a great laff though, brilliant!

Hi FMM

Have been watching the temperatures carefully over the last couple of weeks and its getting hotter 'n hotter.
Am looking foward to meeting our mutual friend in Sharm and will continue to recommend him as much as i can.
Have never wished away time in my entire life but feel like doing so now.
Am sooooooo busy at work trying to tie up all loose ends before we head off on 29th of July ( The joys of being self employed ) so time is rapidly passing. Bit like Xmas really with the buildup and excitment.

I went to Sharm-El Sheikh for the 3rd time in January with a tour operator for 1 week. I took one of the hotel sponsored excursions which took us on a desert safari, camel riding, tea in Beduin tent etc.. On the way back, our vehicle stopped at Paper Factor in Sharm. We were then taken to the perfume factory and jewellery store downstairs.

WARNING - I spent over �100 on a pair of cut but not set Emerald stones (earrings) from this shop. Thankfully I negotiated from the original price. The man even provided me with a 'Certificate Garante' for '2 Emerald Stones' dated 4th January 2007. I returned to London, UK. I work near famous Hatton Garden in London and finally found the time to have the stones set into earrings so that they could be worn. Imagine my surprise, after analysis in this reputable jewellers to be told that the stones are in fact GLASS. I am so disappointed to be ripped off in this way. We all have many options when it comes to travel and after this experience, I have decided I will not return to Egypt again. Even sponsored tours are on the make! Very disappointing.

So please, if you are visiting the jewellery shop as part of your Paper Factory tour, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!! Save your money and buy authentic stones somewhere else.

I would love to have Hany's mobile , we are visiting Sharm El Sheikh in Oct we have never been to Eygpt before really looking forward to it heard lots of good reports. What is the av temp at that time of the year.
ny tips were to go in the evening not Disco's ,drinks and meeting people.
