My husband and I have just returned from Club Joylife on monday we had a great holiday, we were there when the whingers were. These people were always the first in the dining room taking up the childrens meals because they didn't like any of the beautiful greek food that was on offer, there was always a choice of about four basic dishes that you could mix and match if you wanted, plus a salad bar, the only complaint I had was that the desserts were mostly aimed at the children but there was always fresh fruit as well. The pool bar was open when the dining room was closed, the sandwiches where only dry if you got them late afternoon, but then they never lasted that long because SOME people took six at a time. Drinks good ice cream excellent, as the whingers could tell you..... they had enough of them. The staff we found helpful and polite, and the owners the same, some things work both ways!! Our room was always cleaned daily with bedlinen and towels changed twice a week . The pools are lovely but you have to ask for the jaccuzi to be turned on which we didn't know until the second week. All in all this holiday was excellent value for money, but don't go to Greece if you don't want a Greek holiday and want English food all of the time, in saying that, the Sunday lunch at the joylife IS a full roast beef dinner and excellent as well.... but if you don't like roast beef you could always have the Greek choices.
Just go and enjoy yourselves, and make your own minds up, we did.

Thank you Greek traveler for your info on Club joylife, it as set our mind at rest, we have holidayed on Greek islands about 5 times and are big fans of Greek food, we do enjoy trying the local food wherever we travel and have never been disapointed in Greece. We would appreciate it if you could advise us on the dress code for men at meal times in the Joylife (can you wear 3/4 trousers and jeans in the evening) Our last few hols have been cruises and the dress code can be formal, no shorts etc while dining, also are shorts appropriate to go into Sidari in a evening, again thank you and have many more good hols in Greece.

The Joylife is completely informal, shorts are acceptable. This hotel used to be selfcatering apartments and only has about forty odd rooms, they all still have their kitchens fully functional complete with electric kettle!!!! The dining room is small but adequate and run on a self service basis, it never seems full because meal times are 8-10am 1-2.30 or 3pm, and 7-9pm with supper of hot soup and rolls after 10pm for anyone who is hungry. The pool bar is open from 10am till 6.30 but closes at lunch time but you can still get all your drinks from the bar inside during the time it closes. Hope this helps, enjoy your holiday.....

when we were there chips, rice and pasta were on the menu every day. it was half term holidays so there were quite a few children. one family with four children rangeing from 1to 13 really seemed to enjoy their meals, but try to go early as even though some meals stated that they were for children i.e. chips and chicken nuggets a lot of inconsiderate adults took them regardless, but if something was on the menu and the serving dish was empty you only had to ask and they would bring more out.
As for things to do, there is no playground only the pools, but the apartments across the road has a nice playground but of course you will need to pay for drinks and ice creams, at the Joylife the ice cream is FREE from the pool bar but not if you choose from the freezer in front of the bar they are just the same price as the supermarkets.
The beaches are good and safe for children, walk down the back road to the bottom and turn left at the Olive Tree (grove) hotel it takes 20-30 mins depending on how hot it is...... or take the main road into Sidari, but the beach is quite narrow, it will take the same time. You can get a taxi back from all the beaches for 5 euros.
If your little girl is a fussy eater (and my granchilren are) there is a supermarket 2mins away that stocks every english food that you can ever need on holiday and you will have a kitchen in your apartment so don't worry. Go with an open mind and remember how much you paid for this holiday, most All Inclusives will cost you three times as much.
Enjoy your holiday.

Hi unzey ....... if your flight is 7am your hotel pick up will be about 3am. You can book a room but only until 6pm but you can safely leave your cases in reception and go for dinner after that you can stay in the hotel or go out, you will be served all inclusive until 11pm but the bar stays open until 1am and there are a few settees that you can use. Just make sure that you take something to eat at the airport as it will be a long time since dinner the night before!!!!!!
