Many Thanks

It does look fab doesn't it, the brochure doesn't do it justice compared to the website!

We're not going until 2008, so please would you let me know what it's like?

Hope you have a lovely time!

My girlfriend and I are going on the first of june to the 8th. We booked through first choice also as we were shocked by what we were getting for money so booked right away. There weren't any reviews online but were so impressed with the information on the company website. I guess we shall see some of you there!

I'm not sure if any of you have come past this website, but Hotel Nashira has its own website, away from the Joy Hotel group. It shows more photos of the hotel and grounds, the web address is:

http://www.nashirahotels.com/eng/

Hope you all have amazing holidays

Hi,

Just got back from staying at the Joy Nashira Hotel in Side.

The hotel and it's rooms are nicely decorated and the pool area is lovely. The private beach is about 20m from the pool area with plenty of sunbeds available.

The food in the main restaurant was served as a buffet, there was plenty of choice even for fussy eaters and the desserts were lovely.

We booked with First Choice and were dissapointed as only local drinks were included in the all inclusive deal instead of the international drinks it states on their website:
Vodka, Whisky Gin, White Wine, Red Wine, Rose Wine, a few local liquors and soft drinks were included, no cocktails were included. A number of us did complain and first choice arranged with the hotel for us to have tequila and campari added to our drinks allowance. Apparently first choice will be writing to customers due to stay at the hotel, advising them of the change.

The staff at the hotel were mostly very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is quite a distance from the centre of Side with a taxi costing around 30 turkish lira.

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.

One other thing I forgot to mention is sitting outside in the evenings can sometimes be a bit smokey, we were informed by another couple that the smoke comes from a waste site nearby.

Thanks LouLourug

I've tried to email the hotel several times to ask a few questions but have never had a response so was getting dubious!

Can you eat in the a'la carte restaurants several times, is there a dress code? The website mentions sailing & windsurfing are free - if you have a certificate - I don't suppose you did this did you?

Are beach towels provided?

I'm glad you had a good time. I get the impression it's mainly German & Russian guests, was this the case?

I hope the smoke didn't spoil your evenings outside, I must admit I'm a bit wary now the hotels website was incorrect about drinks & hope the other facilities won't vary either!

Hi Cybertiger,

Beach towels are included and can be changed each day.

I honestly couldn't tell you about the windsurfing.

You can eat in each A la carte restaurant once during your stay, there is an Italian, Fish, Asian restaurant and also a Turkish BBQ.

We only experienced smoke on a couple of nights similar to someone having a bonfire.

Our only dissapointment on this holiday was that First Choice had advertised the hotel incorrectly, we were looking forward to cocktails!

Hi everyone,
what about the beach and enter to sea? Is it suitable for kids?

just got back from Nashira this morning. Had a great relaxing time. Staff eager to please.
Looks like the beach slopes away quite steeply so not really suitable for children. The pool(s) are 135cm deep and are all inter-linked in some places the channels are shin deep so ok for children to paddle in. Were a few small children there doing the paddling thing.
If you want to go into Side , go outside the main gate 100m on left is taxi rank - costs 25 YTL . Or go past the taxi rank and walk around the man made lake and look at the shops.
Anything else you need to know ?

Forgot to mention , the coke was watered down with Brandy and the Orange was watered down with Vodka ! and these were not small measures either.
Local wine a bit on the rough side but drinkable , book as soon as you can for a la carte as places are limited.

We have just got back from a weeks holiday at the Nashira and I have to say that this hotel was amazing.

I would suggest however that you book your a'la carte restaurants the first opportunity you can as they only take reservations for this from 10:00am – 12:30pm. You are only able to attend the restaurants once (not sure for people that are staying for 2 weeks) I highly recommend the Asian restaurant.

We found out on our last day that we were entitled to a few drinks more than we thought. We found this out by speaking with the entertainments manager and cocktails are now included. As you can imagine, we made the most of the last night :O)

For all inclusive people, you are able to use the sauna, steam room and turkish baths for free. Massages etc are at an extra cost.

This is a superb hotel for children as they have an amazing club, and play area like no other I have seen, where they can do drawings, play games etc.

The staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough to help, apart from one particular guy who was working in the piano bar . . .hopefully he'll be better mannered when you get there!!

If you want to keep your rooms on for the day of departure, this cost £45, but you will need to book early on the day of departure as these I believe go quickly.

Hi There,

Got back from Nashira on the 15th June, the hotel is amazing.
We have fantastic weather aswell, hit 35 degrees a couple of days!!

We had problems on our holiday but after a meeting with hotel management, everything got sorted and after that the holiday was perfect.

Evening entertainment isnt all that, the animation team so a show every evening which were good, however after the shows, they wasnt much entertainment in the hotel (however this is another hotel called 'titanic' where people were going to party)

Entertainment during the day is great with a huge selection of activities for all ages.

The people at the hotel are great people and eager to please, however there were very few english guests there as i would say 85% of the guests are german and russian.

We had a good holiday so really its what you make it. If you want to know anything just ask.

Jo

Hi Jo,

Thanks for the info, we have booked to go in May 2008.

Out of interest I just wondered what sort of problems you encountered, mainly so we can be aware of anything to watch out for.

The website does look fantastic, the only thing I'm disappointed with is that we can only use each a la carte restaurant once during our 2 week stay.
was the main buffet restaurant ok or was it a bit repetitive?

Thanks very much!

CT
