We just came back from here two days ago. Had a fab time. The apartments were great, massive by normal standards and very clean. I can highly recommend the restaurant at Safran as well, some of the best food we ate whilst in Side. reasonable straighforward prices as well. Lovely pool and really nice staff. Although we liked Side it is a very large resort and I should warn you that most places are seriously heavy sell i.e. you get a lot of hassle walking past shops and restaurants and prices can be a bit ambiguous especially for fish. Always ask the price before you buy. Be prepared to haggle even in restaurants. We found a great family run restaurant on one of the streets going down to the second beach(not the one to the harbour) It's called Zumrut and although not as flashy as some had great food and service and honest prices. This is where some of the more affordable eating places are. Go right out of the apts to the roundabout, turn left, walk about 250 yds and turn right next to the Hamsikoy restaurant. The cheapest shops, supermarkets and restaurants are down this street and if you walk to the bottom and along the beach there are loads of reasonable places actually on the beach. We spent our holiday in the last one before the other shopping street going up. It's called Dalgic and again, fab food and honest prices and service. Also fun for kids. I loved this place as they decorated the tables with gorgeous flowers in the evening and the service was amazing all day. You can have a sunbed on the beach for nothing during the day in these restaurants and the lovely staff at Dalgic really looked after us on the beach. Transfers are expensive by the way, about 50 for a taxi from Antalya airport to Side. We got a better deal on the way back at 29.00. It's worth asking around when you get there for a someone to take you back and you might get a better price. Petrol is more expensive in Turkey than in England so cheap taxis are a thing of the past.
