| The first time I stayed in the orpheus - but that was a long time ago and don't think it's there anymore. The last two times I stayed in the Perelik, but I was really disappointed this time as the decor in the rooms is exactly the same as 8 years ago only 8 years older and shabbier. The Rececption staff were very unhelpful and the lifts rarely worked.
We met friends that stayed in the Orlovets and it looked really nice. We went with Thomson and the rep was fantastic, his name was Dionnis.
Make sure your flight lands in Plovdiv airport not Sofia as it is a lot closer. We ended up at Sofia and the usual 2.5 hr journey turned into 4.5hrs because the coach kept breaking down.
Also I was held hostage in the ladies toilets for 1 Lev (20p) as I didn't have change to pay for my toilet stop............you've got to laugh!!!
Overall we had a great time, and the skiing was fab but I wouldn't go back there again.
I am looking at France or Austria for next year, they seem to be good for beginners and I want to take the kids this time.
Whatever you choose I am sure you will have a great time, a holiday is just what you make it.
