I've heard many, many good things about Tignes. It is excellent in early-season (so, I guess, from the start of December). Also, Les Deux Alpes is excellent... huge ski areas.

Been to Val Thorens in the 3 valleys area of France for the past 7 years, with and without the kids, the kids learnt to ski there so fine for beginners, and fine for advanced skiers. Snow conditions are excellent due to the height of the resort.

La ROSIERE 1850 is the only ski resort (in Savoie) that can offer an international skiing area, thanks to our link with La Thuile (Italy) situated in the Aosta Valley. The two resort join together to make Espace San Bernardo. Espace San Bernardo can offer all types of snow sports with different snowzone (Snowpark, Snowcross and boardercross). Here you can also go heliskiing, see the beauty of the open space from an helicopter and make the most of the fresh powder snow. Appreciate magic long runs through the Italian forest with the view at the Mont Blanc next to you.

I would thoroughly recommend Morzine - Avoriaz which is part of the Portes du Soleil. I am biased as I have a property out there but have skied there for almost 10 years. Avoriaz and Les Gets are opening this weekend and Avoriaz will be permanently open from the 6th of December 2008.
