Nicest Part - Quiet part
Hello me and my partner are thinking of going to Skiathos first two weeks of September, can anyone recommend a really nice, quiet part of the island, we are also thinking of hiring a bike which we usually do, what are the roads like? We went to Paleokastrista in Corfu which was wonderful and are looking for somewhere similar on Skiathos

Hi, We have never been to Skiathos before so can't really help with answering your question but we have just booked for two weeks in may next year at the Esperides Hotel in Achladies and we usually go to paleokastritsa on Corfu which we love, so we would be really interested to hear about your holiday once you get back.
Best Regards,
Ray and Sally.

You may already be in Skiathos, and if so, I hope you are having a wonderful time!
We've just returned from Xanthi Studios in Kolios and we had a fabulous time. Bill & Martina (a young Greek couple) run these basic, clean apartments and have a fabulous pool and a friendly bar on site. They do basic, tasty food/snacks for breakfast/lunch and wonderful cocktails and iced coffee.
We met lots of lovely people (many of them have returned year after year - we read the guest book on the bar!) at this complex - there are only 10 apartments on 2 floors. The little beach over the road is great - not too busy and great comfy loungers and there's a bar and a taverna right on the beach too - a good place to sit and watch the sun go down. There are a couple of supermarkets within a couple of mins walk and a bus stop at the end of the road if you want to venture further afield. We rented a quad bike from Skiathos Town and went for miles, up into the hills, exploring. I would say that the roads are ok, even up into the hills, until you reach a point where you need to go off road, so if you are a fit, keen cyclist then you'll be fine. We found a restaurant called Panorama right up in the hills overlooking the town, which would make a great stop off on a long bike ride.
