Hi , just to tell you we got maried at the dolphin hotel in sri lnka in 1999 a while ago i know but still so many great memories from it it feels like yesterday. We booked all the wedding extras with our tour operator before leaving but on arrival certain things could of been added by the hotel and probably at a cheaper price. The hotel was excellent it is all inclusive set in its own grounds with private beach, the hotel food was excellent and its variety and i am a fussy eater but never got bored or hungry.! The weddings take place in the grounds the ceremony is over very quickly as in a registry office but then afterwards we got a elephant ride round the grounds followed by lighting of candles for eternity then showered with flowers under and archway then cutting the cake then we sat down with our guests with champagne. All the above were set in different parts of the gardens all done in their relaxed pace, offering many different photo opportunities. We only saw 4 weddings in 2 weeks which by some hotels standards is quiet as i know some have that many every day ( i think it make you feel more special if you are the only ones)The hotel is in a lovely location, it has the largest swimming pool in sri lanka, great ****** and we never wanted to leave. If you want to it is also possible to extend your stay and have a few days over in the maldives which is not that far away. We also went on many excellent trips whilst there.I would recommend it to anyone! and talk about it for hours!!! happy searching

Just came across your post and realise you may have booked by now but would just like to tell you that my son got married the year before the Tsunami hit Sri Lanka at the Triton Hotel. This was a never to be forgotten day absolutely superb. The wedding took place in the grounds of the hotel and they had Sri Lanken dancers, musicians etc etc who led them through the grounds of the hotel to where they were actually married. The marriage ceremony took about threequarters of an hour and after they had signed the book, cut the cake and had the champagne they returned (together with all the dancers and musicians leading the way) back to the hotel on the resident elephant. It was then time to head for the beach which was I might add quite stunning where more celebrations took place. I believe it cost just over 3,500 and that included 15 days A/I accommodation, the wedding package including video, all photographs, wedding cake, champagne etc etc. It was booked through Kuoni, the flights were with Emirates from our local airport and it was like something out of a fairy tale. My only criticism would be that it takes about 3 plus hours from the airport to get to the hotel and its set in quite an isolated area but you can always get yourselves a taxi to get out and about if you want to. The 3 hour journey is not so bad on the way there but coming back it's a bit of a downer. Good luck with your search and all the very best for your wedding.

Kev & Michelle,
we got married in November 2005 at Elephant corridor, Sigiriya, it was wonderful, I would highly recommed Kuoni (if you call & book direct rather than using a travel agent you should get a discount) We also stayed at The Beach Negombo, lovely hotel, lousy service would not recommend this one.
