Sri Lanka/Goa Feb 2008

After too much Christmas pudding, I twirled the card on the net and bought a pair of Sri Lankan Airlines nonstop Jan/March Columbo returns at �668 each all in. I bought a �299 each Sri Lanka 14 day tour with Shoestring, a Kuoni company. (They could have got 10% off the flights but upto a max of two months). Red Dot wanted �899 for a similar itinerary, more luxurious version. We have a couple of days before and after on the beach (at about �30 a night for a "beachside" double room), before catching SL upto Goa (v early flight) at $169 single. I pre booked that to save any hassle about being in the country for longer than the free 30 day visa. We like Agonda Beach and will get a cab there from Diabolim and stay in a garden shed on the beach for as long as we like and then fly back to Columbo. It depends on the comparative magic of the two as to how we share out the remaining, hopefully blissful, days until returning early March. At �15 for a change of flight, SL make it very tempting to just stay until the money runs out.
I was interested in PrettyPollyCat 's posts and wonder if she could give any advice as she obviously likes both places.
Whatever happens, I ll post it here next Spring.
