| I have exactly the same worries (due to travel with two young children) told no building work being carried out but clearly there is from the reports. I too cannot change my booking with thomson (apparently the rep has been inundated with requests...) as there is no reason... I'd love to know what its really like and when it will be finished.

| My fiancee & I have booked our Honeymoon at the same resort as yourselves I have today after phoning 08702200413 & I asked to be put through to Reservation Services, I found out a bit more re the work being carried out .
Apparently it is drilling & painting re the Hotel & no heavy machinery is being used re landscaping also I was advised as the resort is 65 Acres & the pool is being constructed to the far end of the property away from accomodation blocks therefore would not cause any disruption .
If you call the number apparently we can request an alternative location there will be no admin charge but any extra cost would have to be paid by yourself.
They say @ this present time the work bieng carried out does not warrant their clients being moved.hope this helps.

| Hi, we have just come back from the resort and had the same worries. The resort is now fantastic the food great te rooms fine. The pools are all now open and all the small childern seemed to have a great time. The whole complex is so big that it is ideal for childern as you can always see them, it's not like spain etc where are the seating has been taken. I cannot recommend the hotel enough we had the most ralaxing holiday ever. The only problem is the paths are not well lite at night and the tiles around the pool areas can be slippy but we did not see anyone fall - however one lady did trip in the evening and break her ankle. Hope this calms any worries you have, we have two teenagers who thought it was fantastic and we all want to go back. PS - we saw no building work only a clean up after the hurricane.

| Hi
We returned from ASC 2 weeks ago. Like yourselves we were concerned about the hotel after reading the reviews but decided to go ahead with our reservation. The room we were given had not been refurbished and on our 1st day we requested a room change which we were give and it was slightly better. I have to say the 2 bedroomed suites that we did see are far superior.
The food at the hotel is superb - all A la Carte and breakfast at the Waterside Grill is excellent. Entertainment is not the best but as the restaurants are all A La Carte you obviously take alot longer over dinner which passes the evening quite quickly.
We were there during the hurricane and there was alot of damage to the hotel - the pools were totally unbelieveable - never could have imagined that much damage. All the guests helped with the clean up operation and with a couple of days I understand they were up and running again. We stayed at the hotel the day after the hurricane and then requested to be transferred as with still another week to go of our trip and knowing that we were the worst affected hotel on the island we wanted to make the most of our stay and obviously the pools and beach were out of action.
Elizabeth the Virgin Rep was excellent - within 45 mins of our request to transfer we were picked up and taken to Coconut Bay Resort & Spa which was beautiful!!!! A far better hotel and more worthy of the 4* status which I would not give to ASC.
The work going on around the hotel causes no inconvenience at all - like many have said the pool area becomes very slippy and the restaurant area when it rains - and believe me it rains alot!!
