:bom: hi there, went to S/B last year, stayed at the saturn hotel 2* rooms very clean but basic if i had known would have gone 3* much better rooms. the resort is very clean and tidy, and the locals very friendly. there is lots to do we went on trip to istanbul overnight stay great trip the bars and resturants in S/B are really good cant fault them on food it is really good and the prices very cheap it is a different story in the hotels ,always go self catering the food is is not edible totaly different from the wonderful resturants out and about. now i am not a senior person ..... well nearly lololol. but everywere there is music blaring out , very loud every bar every resturant. it does get a bit much, well it did for us . before i forget,S/B is wonderful for kids they will have a smashing time plenty forthem to do. to sum it up i would say S/B is the balkans BLACKPOOL....... ARRRRRRRRRRRR PEACE AND QUIET. andy PS JUST ONE PERSONS VIEW. :salut:

Did you use ATM machines whilst you were out there or did yout ake travellers cheques. We are used to going to places where ATMs are widely available but I get conflicting stories from peolpe about Bulgaria. Any advice would be great aswell as any recommendations for restaurants things to do etc. we are going to Sunny beach with our little boy who is 3 for 2 weeks in August.
Cheers

Take clean 20 notes and change them at a bank or in your hotel.

There are several ATMs in the resort. The maximum you can withdraw is 200 levs per transaction (not per day).

Which hotel are you staying in?

we are stopping at the Avliga Beach hotel. Do you know it.

Thanks for advice on ATM's do you know people who have used them without experiencing any problems. About how much is 200 levs we are not familiar with this currency as it will be our first trip to Bulgaria.

Any other tips gratefully received. we are going for 2 weeks with our 3 year old son.

Thanks

There are 3 levs to the so 200 levs is about 66. I used the ATM's in Sunny Beach several times. I haven't stayed at the Avliga beach but it appears to be a small and friendly hotel, built 3-4 years ago, in a good spot, very close to the beach. I have found some good reports on other sites.
