Malmo Gem Down South
After arriving at styrup airport malmo one took the local airport bus which shuttles between the two for only 7 one way, the alternative is an expensive taxi costing 20 so only use if you are in a group. The main attractions of malmo are the viking centre in the north marina with authentic boats of that era and a great museum. The windmill and art and craft museum which is free entrance always worth a visit. The shops are great too with the design centre in central town housed in an old medieval 13th century building. The city has always been an important hanseatic port throughout the ages trading with it's neighbours. It is rich in history and very british friendly which is a rare thing in this age.We stayed at hotel pallas and raddisson both excellent value at 40 per night per person/room repspectively situated near the railway station in ostgarten. There are mcdonalds and burger town in town plus the excellent harrys bar which is 241 after 3.pm daily and offers some delightful choices of meals go early though as it becomes busy after rush hour. Our hotel buffet breakfast was like a jolly green gianta tea party with all manor of choices so we fed ourselves on the fry up of bacon, eggs and choices of cold meat, cheeses, yoghourts and lots of cereals. My wife had to roll me into the lift i was that full.Lidl is next door for cheap booze and presents like chocolate.by mr.shakers not techie
