Help! Honeymoon Planning

Postby purplekirsty24 on Sun Nov 18, 2007 9:01 pm

Hopefully someone can help me! I have the daunting task of organising my honeymoon and have no idea where to start as i am not a seasoned traveller. My partner and I want to go to Tanzania, i would like to see Lake Victoria and he would like to Kilimanjaro and Elephants, finishing up relaxing on Zanzibar. But i dont know whether i can afford any of this as everywhere i look its too expensive. I only have max 2000 for everything - am i being too ambitious? Can i get to Tanzania somehow? Any idea where i can get some help? I want everything sorted out properly (e.g. transfers etc) as i not a confident traveller - since i have never done it. Can someone offer some advice? Oh and the weddings on 30th August, so want to travel from the 3rd September onwards. Thanks

hey purplekirsty
My BF and I went to Tanzania on 18 Aug this year and had a fab fab time! - I'm wondering if 2000 is slightly ambitious but I reckon with some careful planning and hunting around you could be lucky. you might not be able to do all 3....safari plus killi plus zanzibar for that price tho - but for sure, you will see a zillion elephants in the wonderful serengeti! - not sure I should say this - but there is a really good forum on tripadvisor with a few experts (US expats that live there) with loads of advice and many of your questions might be answered by the hundreds of posts on that forum. we got fairly(?) cheap flights with Qatar @ 550 each and had a bargain of a safari at $800 each with Sunny Safaris - altho that was a camping safari - you need to be prepared to rough it - altho the experience was jsut wonderful! - Then we stayed at paradise! - Pongwe beach resort in Zanzibar - $75 per night. If you want any more info feel free....

Help! Honeymoon Planning

Hello Purple Kirsty,

As it your honeymoon take advantage of a good travel Agent or try Travel Counsellors while this may not be your final choice at least you will have a idea of total costs. Normally I would not tell anyone to do this but, in this case safe is better.

I don't want to put a damper on your plans, but as you say you are not a seasoned traveller, and everything must be organised properly I think 2000 is cutting it a bit fine for your choice of honeymoon. So get prices then adjust to fit your budget.

hi PurpleKirsty,

I am not long back from a holiday in Tanzania and Zanzibar, and it was amazing!

You should have a look at http://www.mahlatini.com, They have loads of itinerarys for honeymoons and holidays, or they can create a holiday specifically for you and to your budget!

i relly recommend that you have a look at their website
