Best Resort for a Family

Discussions on Tenerife

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum. I had booked up for two weeks AI 4star in Fuertaventura for this summer but will have to cancel as the nice guys at Thomas Cook decided to move the holiday out by four days.

I wondering if anyone can recommend a good resort in Tenerife for a young family, kids aged 7 and 14. Not looking for anything too lively but not too quiet, something middle of the road. Will be heading out towards the end of June 2008.

Thanks in advance Darren

hi darren,i think you will find the comostela beach appartments just what you want,if you click on my name you will see my review and photos.

your right next to the beach and centrally situated so you can enjoy walks to los cristianos and puerto colon, there are plenty good bars and restaurants all around the area and nowhere near the 18/30 scene.

hope this helps,tom.

The costa adeje area is good for families, there is also a stretch of nice inexpensive sea front restaurants/cafes etc

Thanks Tom and Honey.

Tom it would appear your resort in in Lanzarote, we were more looking for Tenerife, not too much interest in the hotels just the best locations. From what I have read, Playa De Americas and Los Christanos seem to be the norm, will definitely look at your suggestion Honey.

Cheers Darren

Looks like a starter for 10, did a quick check and can get it from Edinburgh on 27/06/2008 for 2 weeks SC for 1634.00. that seems pretty reasonable for four. Will bare it in mind.

Cheers

Personally i think you are booking too early, we go away may/june whit hols and we dont book until 8-4 weeks before we go, and save a hell of a lot of money, same hotels less money.

Willself what do you mean you could be left stranded? the package companies have atol and abta protection backing which prevents you from ever being stranded.
When tin pot travel agencies and other companies similar have gone bust in the past as long as they have this backing you can always be guaranteed protection.
