Tenerife is on the same climate as North Africa so it will be hotter than other Med resorts. Do take a jacket as a precautionary measure incase it gets cold at night.

I was in tenerife december and it was hot through the day and although it cooled down on an evening a jacket wasn't required.

Hope this helps.

We went to Playa De Las Americas in March 2006 and in the daytime it was really hot (my wife had sun stroke on the Wednesday !!)
It got a bit cooler in the evenings but I wouldnt say it was cold.
We spent most mornings on Playa Vistas beach which was really hot.

We have just come back from Tenerife, it was very windy and cloudy, when the sun came out it was warm, when it didnt it was cold. I had to layer T-shirts to keep warm and most of the time wore a cardigan. In the evening a coat was needed. It was too cold to sit on the beach. I wish now I had taken warmer clothes instead of just summer clothes.
