hi, why dont you spoil yourselves and stay at cleopatra palace hotel,5* luxury.

it is right next to the beach in central pdla away from the disc areas of victorias strip,it is central so you can walk to los cristianos or puerto colon both lovely walks along the prom.

the bus stop is only a short walk where you can catch the bus to different places or you can go to the bus station and catch even more buses and express coaches to the capital santa cruz.

if you are using buses a lot i would go to the bus station and ask for a bono card as this gives you half price travel, they are 12e and 30e and you only need one card to share between yourselves.

you just say to the driver where you want to go and then put the card in the machine pull it out and put it in a second time for your other half,it prints out what you have left to use and if you run out you just pay the difference to the driver.

here is a map of the hotel and bus stop, hope this helps, tom.

A little further away is Goa. You wouldn't want to drive, they're really mad drivers out there! It's lively, but not night clubs that go on and on till breakfast! Eating out is all part of the holiday. I am led to believe that eating our can cost as little as 5 per person for a meal and a few drinks.

If Goa seems a bit too much then a slightly quieter part of India and really beautiful is Kerela.

We in our 50s @ love TENERIFE there are loads of hotels @ apt to choose from we have stayed in most parts of PDLA @the adjoining resort of COSTA ADEJE we stay at the BOUGANVILLE PLAYA ,THE GRAND TINERFE @ THE MED PALACE ,thats 3 of the better ones all of these are close to the beaches @ plenty of bars, restaurants around all within easy walking distance, all depends on the budget really @whether you want s/c half board etc

We book with Thomas Cook i find them better as same hol with Thompsons was 200 more. Not tried going direct on net yet loads do. Also sometimes theres not much diff in price between s/c @half board though we tend to eat out as well. Happy hunting

Hi, we have been going to Puerto de la Cruz for many years, both with our children and now on our own. There are plenty of good hotels or self-catering apartments in all price ranges. Plenty of shops to suit all pockets, with a good shopping mall at La Villa just outside the town, with all the high street names including Zara. Because it is the 'original' holiday resort, ther are many traditional squares to sit and watch the world go by. There is a lovely beach with good facilities and buffet restaurent, eat as much as you want for €5-80. And an award winning sea-water lido. We love it, and am going back in 2 weeks time. Enjoy.
