| Hi There
I have been to Thailand in October and it was absolutley fine! We stayed at Koh Samui and had a fabulous time - weather and climate were really nice. I think if you are planning a visit end of Sept beg October for the better as I know whilst we were there locals had said there monsoon had just ended. Although the rain tends to be of an evening younever can tell these days with the bizzarre weather patterns can you!!!!
Malaysia is also nice November time and March.

| Our son and his wife were married in September 2004, they delayed their honeymoon to Thailand until November because of the monsoon season they had lovely weather, they were home 4 weeks before the terrible Tsanami. It didnt stop them returning the end of last November beginning of December, out of 3 weeks they had only 4 days of sunshine, the rest of the time it poured with rain, still very hot though. The locals said since the Tsanami the weather has gone mad.

| I was also wondering about something to do with this...
I am getting married in august and we are wanting to honeymoon in thailand at the beginning of the month. Is this a real danger to be going to Phuket at this time of the year?

| Hello
Ive been also in October its the Back end of the moonsoon season's and around 4pm everyday it Rained! and Boy does it Rain but after an hour or so it stopped and all was well !
Diving Isnt great , due to the moonsoon weather churns up the sea and reduces visibility .
But as far as going for sun , and a good time go's ..... you will be fine .

| Hi,
I have just booked a 2week holiday to Thailand- Phuket beg of September, I was told by the travel agent that it tends to rain for an hour- and quite hard, but after that it clears up. I have been reading up on Thailand and i am quite worried that i am going to have really bad weather, it seems that NO-ONE goes to Thailand in September, can someone please advise me if it really is bad weather or if in fact the travel agent was right and it is a hard shower for an hour then back to the sunbathing???

| Hi there, we were in Bangkok in September 2006 and Chiang Mai last year in September and the weather was lovely, just a shower on 2 afternoons while in Bangkok but saw no rain in Chiang Mai last year.
Hope this helps.

| Hi there
I was in bangkok and phuket in september a few years ago.
Like any other time you take your chances with weather.
Very humid and did rain a couple of times but tropical rain not the usual manchester stuff all over in a couple of minutes.
was a few thunder storms as well.
I would go in sept again but as i said before you always have to take a chance

| Thailand gets a lot of tourists all year long! When it is cold in the U.S. or Germany it is high season in Thailand, from around the middle of October through the end of January. Hotel prices will be at the highest in December and January, especially for the holidays.
September is low season for hotel pricing. Fewer tourists during this time period. Yes, there will be a little more rain during this time period - but this is still a good time to visit anyway!

When it rains it does not usually last too long anyway. When it rains it doesn't rain all over Thailand at the same time. Rain is a good excuse to take in a movie, shop in a mall, go to a restaurant or bar or even hit the sack! Often the rain falls at night time. In the South, Phuket for instance, the rain season lasts a little longer. Some days you may not be able to go boating. But there is always plenty of sunshine for a nice sunburn!
You do not have to be at a beach to get a tan in Thailand. Thailand is warm all year long, top to bottom! You could even get a tan in Chiang Mai or Bangkok!
Go when you can find the time!

| Hi
My partner and I are hoping to go to Thailand at the start of Aug for our honeymoon, Pattaya to be specific. Has anyone been during this time? I've read all about the weather during this period but have set my heart on it! Would really appreciate any advice.

I have been to Pattaya during this month, I like it at this time! Hotels are at low season pricing and there are fewer crowds of tourists. It is easy to get hotels in all price ranges.
I wouldn't worry about the weather so much! The rain does not fall all the time and everywhere in Thailand at the same time! Usually the rain falls for an hour or so and then it stops. During the day there is plenty of sunshine to keep you in a sunburn! Sometimes there is minor flooding (hour or so) for a while while the drain system copes with the deluge - most of the time you will never see this. Several roads have been raised to prevent this from being anything more than a temporary nuisance.

When you choose your hotel be careful that you don't choose something so far from the city that you have to use a taxi truck all the time to get anywhere! Some hotels in the Naklua area and some in the Jomtien area are a little more removed from the the city area.
I prefer an area that is located near Pattaya 2nd Road from North Pattaya to Walking Street. This way you can use the cheap 10 baht BAHT BUS transportation and walk to most places! Too far in Naklua or too far in Jomtien then you may get screwed on your rides.
Beach front at Pattaya is OK for walking, sun bathing, shopping, malls and restaurants - but tourists do not swim there! Most of the hotels will have pools, even some of the cheap ones. You can swim at Jomtien Beach though (20 baht ride.) You can visit Koh Larn for 20 baht from Bali Pier.
Spend a couple nights in Bangkok, get used to the time changes and heat. Find a hotel near the Skytrain route. The Skytrain is a rapid transit system that can take you around Bangkok. Bangkok is worth a visit! Plan on spending the last night or two in Bangkok again to wrap up your trip with some shopping and not worry about missing your flight home. Siam and Sukhumvit Road are two areas that have Skytrain access. There is a cheap VIP bus that leaves from the Ekamai bus station (115 baht ride & about 2 hours.) This bus station is right on a Skytrain route.
