Calypso - Age group onboard?

Postby EnglishChick on Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:11 pm

Hi. This will be my second cruise and am thinking of doing a couple of back to backs in May next yr. I am a single lady, late 30's and would like a rough guide to the age group onboard

Calypso - Age group onboard?

Did the Calypso last year in September/October for two weeks. I'm mid to late forties and also on my own. I would say that for the two weeks I was on most of the people were in their fifties. But a great bunch (with the usual cruise exceptions). There are no chldren, thankfully. There were a few young couples - some of them just married. But most of the passengers had cruised a number of times, were very good fun, definitely not snobby and noticed I was on my own and took time to talk to me. Mind you I did not put out a "poor me, I'm on my own vibe" but for the two weeks I was on the ship I was the only female travelling alone (there were a few guys) but also I was Irish. I didn't know that I was even noticed until late in the cruise when someone told me that the guest comedian during his show said he knew there was an Irish woman on the ship travelling alone and was she in the audience. Book the Calypso, its a very small and very friendly ship. I had cruised before on my own and gone on many holidays alone but this experience was so much fun that I'm off for another two weeks on the Calypso (again alone).
