| Which ports are you going to Bob? The Calypso goes to different places depending when you go.
The website (Thomson's) has some of the trips listed.
We did a few trips last year- half day was about £25, less for a beach trip, full day up to £55 or so.

Just got back off Calypso, if you say were you are sailing to I will try and help. There is a Karioky night but did not see a talent show. All other shows a first class. Keef Meynard is a brilliant and funny cruise compere and has interactive shows in the Captains Club which are hillerious. There are quizzes also. The tropical Lounge has music from the Albert duo. The festival hosts the evening shows such as Andrew LLoyd Webber, Ready Steady Go with all the 60s music. You will enjoy it I am certain. Which deck are you on and do you know your cabin number?

| Hi Bob99
Its cheaper to go by taxi and on buses or even walk to some places on this cruise. Thomsons were charging £32 for a trip to the blue Mosque and its only 20 mins away by foot. Plan before you book.Work out were you want to go and the cheaper way to do it before you book trips with the ship.

| Hi Jacki
Most placea in the Red sea are far away and better to do with them, such as Petra, Luxor etc; But they are all worth seeing its brilliant if your intersted in the Egyption History.

| We did the Crimean trip last year ( and doing it again in 9 days)
In Nessebar it was only a half day stop and the town was very attractive to walk around- good cheap shopping too!
In Sevastopol we did the Crimean war trip (£30). It was 4 hours, very good value and the panorama museum was fantastic.
Romania we did a wine tasting trip about £20 or so- it was ok but not great, I was expecting vinyards but it was almost on the coast, and we just went into a restaurant to taste the wine, not a grape in sight! This year we are planning on doing the Mamaia transfer as there is not much in Constanta.
Istanbul we did ourselves- ok we got a bit lost over the bridge and had to take a taxi! Still, it wasn't difficult, even in extreme heat, to go to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi, then walked over to Grand Bazzaar.
We also did Athens ourselves as it was our 2nd time there, and we didn't have a hectic sightseeing schedule. It is a long walk to the metro, but very cheap and quick on the train.
In Corfu (is that on your cruise?) we have been on the Bella Vista trip- £20 for 4 hours. That was one of our favourite days, lovely scenery, boat ride, coffee stops. Hope this helps your planning a bit,
