Do any ladies wear trousers on captains gala nights?

I would like to attend a formal evening/gala night. but having read lots about getting dress up am starting to panic. Is it ok for ladies to wear smart trousers with dressy tops for captains night?
I really dont suit dresses and dont want to spend money on one that will never be worn again but at the same time dont want to be embarrassed by being the only person not wearing one!!

Short answer is yes by all means, so long as you look smart anything goes.

Feeling much more relaxed now, only 3 weeks to go till my first cruise, cant wait, was supposed to be travelling with xl!!! to tenerife, had to book this last minute but think its probably going to be better than original booked holiday

Hi Sue,We went on the spirit in may and like yourself i don't like wearing dresses so i wore black trousers and a top with a bit of glitz on it and i did not feel out of place.

Sue. 90% of the women on Thomson cruises wear trousers even on the formal night. Smart linen, black with a dressy top etc - that is how most women manage to get away with the baggage weight restrictions on the flights. White, cream and black trousers with the appropriate top will see you through the dinners whether formal or informal. These are not dressy cruises (though you will see people dressed up to the nines) but the thing is don't compare yourself (if you have to) to the best dressed but the worst dressed. Some people will try to get away with t-shirt tops or a fleece depending on the weather.

Hi Sue .wear the most comfy best fitting,feel good -in trousers you own . remember you have paid out good money for the cruise and you are there to enjoy yourself ,and of course there will be the photo with the captain too so wear what you know looks best on you,,have a great cruise
