Red Sea Cruise Feb 07 - Cost of Excursions?
Hi Andy,
Make no mistake nearly all excursions from any ship are fairly expensive, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. These will always be very informative well organised and safe.
You will be given a tour brochure in your cabin with verious tours from each port, these normally range from 20 upwards, travelling times, starting times, either by coach or other means is also set out.
Over 5 hours, lunch will be included, as well as an English speaking guide. So you plan what you would like to see to the limits of your budget.
Red Sea Magic, the Ports are some way from the highlights of this cruise Petra from Aqaba, Cario from Sokhna & Luxor from Safaga are all a coach ride away. and to be honest better done by ship excursion.

Thomsons Red Sea Magic Cruise offer a Shuttle Bus or Transfer from he ports of call from as little as 5 so you can explore on your own, average price for 4X4 or Quad bikes are 34, most expensive shore excursions are the pyramids in Cairo and Valley of the Kings in Luxor priced 68/70, very reasonable for 12hr organised trip. I recommend always book on board ship.

Hi,having just come back from this cruise and brought the tour price list home with me can confirm there is a reduction for kids. Children aged 3-16 years receive 50% off adult price off all tours except the hot air balloon ride in Luxor and the Wadi rum 4 X 4 desert adventure from Jordan.
The trip to Petra was 70- very well organised, we had an excellent tour guide who did not rush us and we enjoyed the lunch in the Crowne plaza afterwards.
Trip to Dead sea - 51 , lunch included
Luxor trip - Karnak and the Valley of the kings, 70 lunch included
There were varied trips to Cairo to include the Pyramids ranging from 32-68.
Hope this helps.

Red Sea Cruise Feb 07 - Cost of Excursions?
Hi Andy just returned from the Red Sea Cruise, we had a wonderful time there over Christmas and New Year, but the excursins are expensive. It would have been easier and cheaper to do the nile cruise. We went to Petra for the day which was covered in snow on the way down and coaches skidding all over, we had to get off the coach to walk down the road and pick up the coach again after the fire engine squad swilled the roads with water ( yes water) One of the coaches skidded into another. When we arrived in Petra it was wonderful to see the rose city and soon forgot about the coaches skidding. Cost 70 each.
On the Valley of the Kings excursion you had to board the coach at 6.30am quite early to say the least but if you want to see these places you have to do it. Most tombs were closed but we could enter three. It was a bit dissapointing. The Karnack temples were the best it was awsome and we enjoyed them better than the Valley of the Kings. Coming back was a nightmare as we set off from Luxor at 5.30pm and arrived back on board ship at 11.15pm. The ship was supposed to set sail at 10.30 and had to wait until we were all on board. Their was far to many coaches and with all the security stops it just took to long. Other coaches were cutting in and not sticking to the rules of convoys.
these are long trips so be prepared. Cost 70 each. Food boxes are given to you on departure and a buffet lunch is served in a Hotel.
Book the submerine in Sharm its cheaper.
Hope you enjoy it let us know what you yhoink on your return.

Hi swings
It was only snowy on the way to petra not in Petra. But once we were there the weather was fine and warmish with sun. In Sharm it was hot over Chistmas I was there also when we had that windy day so we went indoors and had a drinking session.
