Unsafe Celebration Deck?
I just read a review of Celebration by Mrs LB Burch that said the deck was unsafe and they would not take children on it. As the reviewer did not give any explanation of exactly what was unsafe and what safety regulations were breached the review was not exactly helpful to either prospective cruisers or Thomsens who I am sure would not want to endanger passengers lives.

Unsafe Celebration Deck?
Hiya Dave,
Few years since I was on the Celebration but if my memory serves me right I think one (at least) of the outside smoking decks just had rails. This was in keeping with most ships built about that time or earlier.
Children running about on these outside deck could perhaps have slipped and fallen overboard. This is in disregards to the notice in the cruise brochures, cabin welcome packs and such forth, to say that children sould NOT be allow to roam loose on outside decks. there have been instances where drunks have fallen over.
To my mind this lady had a bad cruise and was not in control of her kids, otherwise why take them onto this deck after seeing it.
Classic case of when a holiday is not what you expected find fault.

Unsafe Celebration Deck?
Yes, the little darlings could climb on the railings and plunge into the briny although it is obviously not a common occurance otherwise the press would be full of it. As you say, supervision is the key and perhaps some people just want their children to go away and roam at will.
