My Profile
| hello Cruisefish.
I am going on the same cruise but on the spirit.
i have been to these ports before, Gibraltar- you can get in a minibus outside the port gate to go and see the apes, well worth it i think. otherwise there is another mini bus which take you to the center for about a pound. this is duty free and cigarettes and alcohol are very cheap as is perfumes and jewelery.Casablanca for me will be a day on board ship, I have been twice and its not worth getting off for, unless you do a ship excursion, then i don't think it is highly rated. if you go to Valencia this is a very nice city, and the Spanish place in morocco i must admit i haven't bee, but it is supposedly duty free so i will go and try and lewr my husband to buy me something nice ring! ring! ha ha. I have never been to Almeria though so that will be new, hope you enjoy your cruise Carol

| We're on the same cruise but start with the Mediterranean Renaissance cruise on the Destiny on 17th July. Looks like a trip on the cable car is good at Gibraltar. In Morocco the Marakesh trip sounds good, but is very long, so think I may miss that one out. Has anyone been on it and can offer any thoughts?

| We did the Renaissance last year. Caught the train to Rome, which is so simple. Short walk to the station (can provide directions). I think the ticket was around 9 euro which included the underground and the buses in Rome. Got to see the countryside en route too. A must in Mahon is the gin factory (plenty of tasters there). Also caught the train to Pisa from Livorno. Have a good holiday.
