Its difficult to judge the sea as it can change at the drop of a hat. Tenpin will probably know more as my last transatlantic was in 2001. We had calmish days and choppy days which is to be expected.

Hi Lizian,

Welcome to HW and the cruise forum.

We did the transatlantic about the same time last year (16th April)
Barbados, Miami, Southampton.

For the most part at least first week and a half should be plain sailing, during the last 3/4 days you will be approaching the Bay of Biscay which I am afraid is about as un-predictable as Mrs T on a very bad day. however we crossed it a saw bearly a ripple the last two times.

Best bet is either purchase wrist bands from Boots/travelshop/dept store (about a 5) before you go they help in all but the most servere cases of seasickness.

If seas are really bad and you are feeling poorly then either collect tablets from reception or medical roon.

In all honesty cruise ships do try to avoid any bad weather as the crew don't like cleaning up, so most times it's ok.

i can highly recomend travel ease pastiles also from boots there a bit like wine gums and you just take 2 every 24 hrs and they worked very well some of the others they sell dont last as long and you have to keep taking more through the day/night.

I am a light sleeper and we could feel the boat rock ( canary cruise this april)I took a Stugeron every night before going to bed (whether I needed to or not) and didn't wake up until the morning, but maybe it was the glass or two of wine I had before.
