Joined: 26 Jun 2007 Posts: 43 My Profile	Unfortunately I did not realise that Thomsons were running cruises to the Caribbean this winter before I booked on the Island Star. Hope I did not make a massive mistake as I have always enjoyed all the Thomson cruises I was on but hated the Island Escape last year. However you can get a flavour of what is on offer on Thomson by looking at what Island provide by way of excursions. I have no doubt that in the ports of call that both companies duplicate the excursions will be the same.

I have always been on thomson cruises and love them, but as I wanted to have a balcony cabin for a special birthday I have booked to go on the island escape. Why didnt you like it last year how did it vary from the thomson ships???

Joined: 13 Jan 2007 Posts: 1125 My Profile	Island find it funny charging you extra for things you get included with other cruise lines. From restaurant dining where the good food is at to simple things like aerobics lessons. After sailing on both ships all i got was the impression they just wanted your money. The Island star was a lot better ship though in my opinion. With Thomson its cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for. The captain spent more time with the passengers than he did on the bridge too. I'm all for seeing the boss...but not as often as i did.
