Further to that - if they haven't got the letter yet they must be ringing to persuade you NOT to change your mind - i.e. not to decide to cancel. Same rules apply though.

Thanks for that. They should have received the letter today, and so far, we haven't heard from them.

cash back is a scam, the promise of 100% return is false. Dont do it.

I'm not sure how they get you out of it either and they probably haven't. You should have been given something in writing which agreed exactly with what you were told.

If the cashback scheme is actually called CashBack then whatever you were told (and please tell us exactly what you were told) you should note that it guarantees only 10% of the face value of the certificate and that you only get that after five years if you keep absolutely exactly to their conditions. Have you been told the conditions? Have you been given a certificate? It seems to be quite legal unfortunately but it is usually sold by habitual liars.

I have been member of DWVC for about 5 years. We joined when we were in Spain and vowed we wouldn't get duped by another holiday company, but we ended up going to one of their presentations. They 'bought' our existing Timeshare from us, offered a Cashback scheme, then we also had to pay the balance when we returned home. They were really good, took care of the kids while we were there, treated us all to breakfast and snacks/drinks etc.

I started to hear a lot of bad stories about the Cashback scheme and was getting worried, expecially as the time came in September for me to apply for my cashback. I had almost resigned myself to not receiving anything when a cheque for over 4000 came through my letterbox, so I was quite pleased with that.

Although I haven't used DWVC exclusively for our holidays, when we have used them we've had excellent accomodation, although sometimes booking the flights separately can be a problem.

But all in all they're not too bad at all

Ice Maiden
That is good news.
Which cash back scheme were you in?
Has the cheque cleared yet?
If the cheque is drawn in euros - there will be the usual conversion charge-
or is it in sterling?
Can you update those like myself who thought the cash back scheme was yet another scam.

Yes - please tell us which cash back scheme was involved and what proportion of the face value of the certificate you received.

Many of us are waiting with bated breath!

What a load of nonsense, DWVC are the only holiday club that actually offer live availability so you dont risk a book on request situation that CLC / Sunterra use to manage their space so their members cant use it.
DWVC works, if the hol you want is there then you can reserve it for 24 hours while you check out flights etc.
DWVC do not get any consumer complaints, because they dont promise holidays that they cant give. Their booking system is live and cashback is paying out as the new company mags will prove.

Cashback pays out up to 100% of the cheque value and we were told that AND GIVEN IT IN WRITING when we joined. DWVC took our timeshare and the burden of man fees, plus we couldnt get an exchange. We can now visit our old resort through DWVC for less than our man fee was. If we had kept our timeshare in Kent for 10 more years, it would have been more expensive than joining DWVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so even if we only get the 5% of our cashbach cheque, we have still benefited. That 5% is still more than you can buy a week like we had from the sunday paper...doh!!!
