| Just returned from Portugal and wondered if anyone had heard of the above holiday club.
We are looking to join a genuine club ( I know they exist somewhere) but were approached by the above company via the timeshare 'kidnap'. However the sales person was very honest in saying that the kidnap tactic was not very ethical but is was a good way of getting people in (10/10 for honesty) The product looks very good at £7K - you can view at www.clubclassconcierge.com but we are very sceptical.
It was pretty hard sell but have not parted with any money yet although we have signed a contract which from scrutiny it appears they can not hold us to parting with any money.

| I have passed all my details onto the Office of Fair Trading at the address below as they are gathering information to pass onto the
Spanish Authorities for their investigation on these scams . The OFT
said the more people who contact them the better so now it is your
chance to get in touch with them.

| HI,
Just returned from Benidorm, after a cruelling 3 hour presentation (in which they even helped occupy my 4 year old with dvds and drawings) I would have signed my soul over to the devil to get out of there. We signed up for 10 years and paid 1200 deposit and they promised us the same cashback and cheap holidays after reading the threads on this website I wonna get out of the contract. I havn't paid outstanding amount of 2800ish, (within pounds not hundreds). How do I get deposit back? Can someone help me? Oh and their very nice and sent us a postcard to welcome us to the club, also we got some wine out there from them, so i paid 1200 and an outstanding balance of 2800 for 2 bottles of wine, a postcard sent second class and a world atlas they gave us (for free). Help........

| I suggest that you should read some of the recent parts of the thread. It's all there. If you were taken in by a tout (rather than attending as part of a fly/ buy which compelled you to attend) and if you paid by credit card you are in a stronger position to get your money back. What date did you sign?

| Hello again,
Have had a reply from OFT, to whom we sent all the details of our dealings with CCC & ETOO.
"Your complaint has been registered on our database, and the information contained within will be assessed for evidence of possible breaches by the trader concerned of consumer protection legislation. A case worker may contact you in due course to request further information".
"The remit of the OFT, is to protect the "collective" interests of comsumers in the UK by acting to ensure that the practices of traders comply with a range of comsumer protection laws. W e have no powers to assit in individual consumers in their private disputes with traders or to offer legal advice. Nor are we able to offer opinions on the legitimacy or otherwise of a trader."Contact Consumer Direct or C A B.. We contacted CAB, they couln't advise on something as complex as this case.
So not a lot of help to us with OFT & CAB.
Our local MP, has taken up the case and will be raising questions in the house and the DTI, but he doe's tend to think that we can kiss goodbye to our time share and money. He will keep us up to date on his resulting talks. He agrees with you Fred2 that they are very unlikely to chase us through the courts as they would have to do it in a UK court, and they would take a very dim view of their practices. (The MP is also QC)
Had another call from CCC, they cannot cancel the contract, it is a legal and binding contract, there is no way out, and they will be sending us a letter for formal legal proceedings.
Not a very good result, at the moment even Barclaycard has gone quite even though they acknowledge receipt of our letter and documents.

| Hi Cullabull,
We too were tricked into this. All The things you describe is the exact deal that happened to us. The 3 hour presentation, the wine and the atlas. I suppose that a rep visited you at the hotel. We were took in by a scratchcard ticket tout - who got very excited and took us to the office/building by taxi. We signed up on the 17th June, and by the 19th June thay had taken the money - 1200 euro, on my husband's debit card - we may not get our money back, as not have the same protection as credit cards.
We have contacted the company and informed them that we want a refund of the money and will not be paying the remaining amount of £2800. They have sent us a letter - reminding us that it was pointed out that there is no cooling off period, and that the contract is a binding contract - and we will not get a refund.
We are still fighting the case and have contacted the office of fair trading and the consumer rights. We have been told that we may have a case on the doorstep directive - which when contacting the company with this, they say this does not affect them in this way as this was not done on the doorstep. but this is not the case in the doorstep directive, we have still be taken on false imformation, and contacted unsolictoredly.
We have been threatened with court if not paying the rest of the money, but as indicated in this thread/forum, many people have been threatened like this and there has not been anything done.
We will fight on, let us know if you get any satisfaction anywhere, and we will let you know if anything else happens in this case with us.

| There is a useful document here -
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meetdocs/2004_2009/documents/cm/700/700832/700832en.pdf
it is a European Parliament note relating to complaints about timeshare and holiday clubs which appears to have been circulated for info. probably in connection with the proposed new Directive.
Refs to ETOO and what happened to customers on pages 3 & 4. It may be helpful to send a copy to your credit card company in connection with any ongoing dispute as it looks like independent confirmation (of some of what happens) to me.

You do have them on the doorstep selling directive. You went in via a tout and if they told you there was no cooling off period, and it was not written in the contract, they have broken Spanish law, because under Spanish law they have to do this, end of story.

| Cullabull,
There is a lot to read in this thread but may I mention that the cancellation letter I sent to CCC/Global Vacs detailed three reasons why their contract / presentation was fraudulent. (I used these as headings so that it was clear as water for them!!) These were:
1. Fraudulent claims made about the cashback scheme.
2. Claims made about the repayment of our existing timeshare.
3. The Contract failed to include a withdrawal clause, rendering it voidable.
...if that helps you. Note that Lloyds refunded our money days after receiving our letter to them requesting a claw back of the deposit which enclosed this cancellation letter.
The threatening letters of court and bailiffs have now stopped and we have our deposit back so its possible to win over these people.
Best of luck

| Have had a very long chat to our local Trading Standards Office,
apprently as we were driven to the location of the presentation, and they would not lets us leave or take us back to the hotel, this is deemed as "As a presntation during an excursion", there comes with a cooling off period. They were also misreprenting the fact that" this is about the only way you can actually get out of a long term Timeshare"
So the contract was made under false pretences, This is in accordence with Euro Consumer Law.
Which then makes the Credit Crad Company equally Liable, under the Consumer Credit Act: Section 75 , which covers payments made over £100, because of the points made above makes the contract invalid, and the Credit Card Comapny liable to pay back the deposit made.
So a letter goes out first class tomorrow, and we will see their reaction.
The trading Standards Officer said if they agrue by quoting any number of Acts or Sections just give them his name and he will argue the toss with them. First positive response from an official body and I would not have got this far without everyone on here, fights not over yet!!!!!!!!!

| Hi All
Just found this site by looking into CCC after coming back from Portugal today.
Got hustled by a bloke on the strip in Albufeira with the Scratch card trick.
Took us in his car to a Hotel a few miles away to answer a questionnaire and win our 'prize'.
Alarm bells were ringing anyway at this point due to us being asked questions we didn't think were relevant for a simple questionnaire.
Anyway, we were asked to provide name, address, DOB etc.
we gave them mickey mouse details and were then introduced to another bloke by the name of Dave. He was a bit over the top and reminded us of a car salesman with his ridiculous line in ties and bad jewellery.
An hour later, after much waffle, he came out with the question about whether we'd be interested in becoming members.
He told us how they were affiliated with British Airways and their club lounges and the whole thing just didn't add up.
Anyway,I span a tale about how we were trying for kids, were not going on holiday for the foreseeable future etc etc and laid it on quiet thick.
We were then whisked back by a gruff driver who didn't have much to say to us.
We feel lucky that we were not given the same high pressure sales bullying that other people seemed to have experienced and luckier that we came away no worse off. After reading other peoples threads it makes us gutted that other people have potentially lost so much money to these sharks.

| Hi. I last posted at the beginning of the year when I had fallen for the scratchcard scam in Tenerife but mananged to cancel my membership and get a refund from CCC within a month of my return home.
Yesterday, however, I got a phone call from a Scots lady at CCC claiming I had an outstanding balance of GBP 3790 (the amount of the deposit) and asking why I hadn't paid. I explained that I had been refunded and gave the reason for cancellation as being lied to about the 100% cashback guarantee and being asked to lie about the reaon for the bank loan to buy the membership. She agreed that the cashback amount could not be guaranteed (several times!) and that I should not have been asked to lie. She claims the people I saw (Palace Marketing in Tenerife) were a sort of franchise and had said these things without CCC's authorisation!
She then tried to sell me a different package with CCC at a special reduced price (not given) as I had been upset by my previous experience. The only difference I could hear was no cashback was involved, otherwise it sounds identical. She stayed on the phone for about 30 minutes (it's their phone bill!) trying to talk me into at least reading some info. She claims they have 96,000 happy members, have been around for 16 years, no-one ever sells their membership because they are so happy with it (I didn't think there was anything to sell, as you get all the money back with the cashback so only pay £96 per year plus holidays).
When I finally got away, I dialled 1471 and was given their phone number as 01225 430070, which is a Bath area number, but I can't trace the company name or address for this number. The CCC website mentions a UK office in Maidenhead (where Chris Quinton, ex-Coronation Street star is going to be working, apparently), but nothing in Bath.
They failed to catch me this time, but I was surprised to get the call four or five months after being refunded by them. Be warned, you may get you money back, but it doesn't mean they won't call you!

| I have been a member of Club Class for the past 8 years. From the experience of myself and that of my family we have saved an average of 1500 pounds a year every year we holidayed so far. It works very well for us and until something better comes along this is the way we will continue to holiday.

| Mrs Fussy,
I have no doubt that you find the CCC experience to suit you.
The problem most people have, here, is the underhand techniques used by companies associated with CCC (ETOO and Global Vacations are but two - you can just read posts here to find others).
They scam people into attending presentations.
They, illegally, do not allow a cooling-off period on what, for some people, is possibly one of the biggest purchases they will ever make.
They misrepresent a payback scheme
They misrepresent problems with timeshares

It's nice to hear that there is at least one happy customer of Club Class Concierge! Although they claim there are thousands of you ...
So I take it that you weren't coerced into joining CCC by being caught by one of the scratchcard touts and more or less frogmarked into the marketeer's office and made to sit through a 4-hour presentation then promised/guaranteed that you would get 100% of your money back?
You must have been the only one that wasn't!
And you must be the only one who has paid into the Reclaim scheme and actually got ALL of your money back??? By that I mean ALL that you paid into the scheme ... the £7,000 or £9,000 they originally 'conned' you for?
I very much doubt you did .... but even then, how can you claim to have saved £1,500 per year on your holidays when CCC holidays are far dearer than what you can get on the internet, and they can't even, as they claim, beat the airlines on the cost of flights?
If you are, as you say, a happy customer (and not employed by CCC?) you have come to the wrong forum, you should be starting your own 'Club Class Concierge customer satisfaction website' ... but be warned, you won't get m/any hits!
