Club Class Holidays 'Take over' buy back.

Postby EdithMinnie on Wed Feb 27, 2008 10:13 am

We bought an interest in Club Class holidays several years ago but were never able to make use of it. We decided to cut our losses and put it down to experience. Last year we had a holiday in Tenerife and sat through the sales spiel of RCI who wanted to get our money back for us and put it towards their company (naturally we would have had to pay a lot more money) - we refused. Later that year we were approached by Key Property Management who wanted money up front. Thanks to the internet we didn't bite.
Now we have been approached by Real Consultancy International stating they represent lawyers in the UK and Spain who want to get our money back for us. Naturally we have to travel to Tenerife and stay in a hotel for 69 each + flights. Sounds good. They SAY we do not have to pay any money, all the CASH will be ours and will not involve buying something else.
Has anyone heard of them? I have googled them and found nothing.

EdithMinnie - it is a scam and would involve you being sold something else and being falsely promised a return of your money through a 'cashback' scheme. Could you please post any names, addresses, phone numbers and the like relating to them. They seem to be hard to get a handle on, although I have seen the name before.

RCI is Resort Condominiums International.

Real Consultancy International has been on blacklists for a while.

FAO FRED

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier but I have no address and they have not contacted us since.

However, have just had a call from some chap in a call centre in Tenerife (who I wouldn't give much time too, it must be said), saying that the refunds we were due, have been frozen in a bank account in Gib.

He said we had 2 options. 1 They were prepared to put us up at the Tenerife Country Club, where we could lodge our refund request for 169.75 with a Spanish lawyer or 2 They would send us a disclaimer saying that we would forfiet our rights to the funds due, which could have been as much as 90% of the original amount paid.

Well, you can guess my answer. The conversation started to get heated from my side and I said that the lawyer could have more than 169.75 if he was prepared to operate a no win no fee policy. The call ended abrupty very shortly afterwards.

These people are getting worse.

Please always post any information that comes to hand, however little. Company names are useful but it is sometimes possible to trace companies and connect them with others using just a phone number or partial address.

Club Class Holidays 'Take over' buy back.

Similar story here. Paid approx 2000 deposit to Can Press back in 2004, plus another 6500 on return to UK for Club Class sapphire membership on basis that 10,000 would be refunded in 51 months. No certificate was ever issued, and I understand Can Press have gone bust.

3 weeks ago was contacted by a company who said they could get my money back through Reclaim, in similar circumstances as others ie pay a fee, come to Tenerife and meet with Spanish lawyers. Info was to be sent out ASAP but never arrived.

Went to Club Class in Mijas last week to try to resolve the issue.
They said Can Press was gone, contacted Reclaim on my behalf, and were told that Can Press never paid them, no certificate ever issued - money lost.

They also said the company who contacted me were a Timeshare sales company and another scam - avoid.

They did offer to trade in my existing membership, and upgrade to platinum concierge membership for an additional fee of 4500, on the promise that I would receive the toal 130000 investment back in 36 months, invested with another independant cashback company called "Cashback Euorpe". I agreed and paid up.

I have since found out that Cashback Europe is not an independant and is another one of their companies, and will have little chance of getting any money back at all. I am currently negotiating with the credit card company to try get the recent 4500 back.
