Club La Costa

Hi

Ive recently been to a club la costa presentation were we were offered their 3 year trial, which we could in time convert to a full membership of the holiday club, which i am sure they are going to try to persuade us to do as soon as possible.

i am just looking for advice or information regarding this company and the products they offer before i finally commit to it, we havent owned timeshare or been part of anything like this before, so we are unsure as to wether or not its worth doing, and if what they say they can deliver is true.

any advice offered woudl be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks
Joanne :)

We purchased the 3 year trial and then upgraded to Gold Membership last year. We have had 5 holiday since last August, both abroad and in this country. We have always found the resorts to be wonderful, apartments and villas pure luxury and the customer service second to none. (There is a great kids club too, and we have always found the security of the site very encouraging. We have never had any problems with availablity and have already booked Tenerife, Portugal, Spain and Wales for next year and then Australia for 2006. If you can book in advance then do so, but don't use all your points up as they do some great offers including two for ones and huge discounts. Go in with an open mind and don't listen to other peoples opinions around the pool. As you are always going to have people that want something for nothing or it doesnt suit their needs. Holidays are a personal choice and we know someone who has been with them for 15 years and has never had a bad holiday and has been all over the world with them.
Happy Holidays!

Club la Costa

Hi,
New to this forum and this is my first post, but these people have wound me up so much that I felt, I had to put something down, just to see if we were the only people to be conned into going to one of their "2 hour" presentations to claim our "free holiday"
We were basically bombarded by these people with phone calls telling us that we had won a free holiday though a competition I had entered on the Internet (a competition I don't recall entering in the first place).
They were very persistent telling us "there's no catch" and all we have to do is turn up to a presentation for 2 hours to collect our prize where we would be informed about the location of the holiday and shown what kind of accommodation we could expect and all we had to pay was a 39 admin fee per person.

What a load of garbage. :icon_grrs :icon_grrs :icon_grrs

When we arrived we were told we could not collect the "free" holiday until the end of the presentation, which ended up lasting 4 hours. During the presentation all kind of techniques are used to try and get you to sign up, including in our case making inappropriate comments to my wife.

When we eventually got the "free" holiday information the cost has risen to 80 per person, which you have to pay within 7 days of the presentation. They choose the airport you fly from, they choose the destination and they choose when you will go.

Fortunately we did not sign up for the holiday club, and I don't see any point in sending them any money for this supposedly "free" holiday.

My wife has also phoned them to complain and has basically been told we were making up the whole story about being offered a "free" holiday in the first place.

OK we've been a bit naive, but these people are basically conning people into attending their presentations and then employing high preasure sales techniques once you're there.

I know I've waffled on a bit, so apologies for that, but if anyone else is thinking about going to one of these presentations, our advice is if it's Club la Costa steer well clear.

I too was told that I had won a holiday in a competition that I did not remember entering. Had to go to Leeds for a presentation for which i would get a free !!!!!!!!!!!!! holiday and also 75-00 of M & S vouchers.
Sat through the hard sell. The reps were pathetic and supposedly had to keep asking the managers the answers to each of our questions. Told them at the end that their package did not live up to our expectations and left.
In fairness, we did get the M & S vouchers so 75 was not too bad for the time spent including travelling.
I would not join them or recommend their product as it is too expensive for what is on offer compared with other like companies.
