We were recently 'taken in ' by all the hype at a Holiday VIP presentation in January, signing up, after much deliberation and believing the guarantees given to us that (amongst all the other promises that don't add up ) we could take our initial first free holiday within a couple of weeks of signing and paying for the contract. We had stressed at the meeting (over and over again!!) that we would only sign up if we could take the free flights and accommodation holiday, quickly due to our work commitments. We were continually reassured that it would be 'no problem' to go to our desired destination of the Canary Islands within that time frame. Of course, on reflection we now know that we were continually fed untruths in order to get us to sign the contract.
On the basis of misrepresentation we have refused the free holidays and the Timelinx brochure/case and demanded a full refund of the 3000 paid. All our efforts to resolve the matter with Holiday VIPs to date have only resulted with letters denying any wrong doing, showing that they are clearly aware of the illegality of the misrepresenting statements they made which is why they are at pains to continually deny them. We have written to BBC, Watchdog and are considering legal action but would appreciate any advice on the advantages or likely success of the same.
