Hi everyone,
We went to a DWVC presention in Coventry which was run by Holiday VIPs.
As we have been to a few of these kind of things before, either in England or abroad on holiday, we have got extremely good at saying NO. We listened to the presentation, said NO a few more times and then came away with our free week's holiday which was organised by a company called Echo Beach Vacations.
Now we filled in the form, chose our four weeks to go on holiday, paid our �103 administration fee, and sent it off. A short while after we got a letter back to say that they had received our form and gave us a Personal Registration Code. We thought, splendid, we'll sit back and wait for them to call us when one of our chosen weeks came around.
Nothing as of yet and so, as it's half-term in a couple of weeks, I thought that I would call them and ask if they had any holidays free for that week.
Can I get in touch with them? Can I hell. Telephone is engaged all the time or just rings, rings and rings. E-mails don't get answered at all. I have an address so I am going to write to them by snail-mail this weekend and see what happens.
Has anybody been on a free week's holiday with Echo Beach Vacations?
To anybody who is thinking of going to a presentation, please remember just one small word - NO - and use it very often. You'll be glad you did.

Following our meeting with one of the two Directors of Holiday VIPs at the weekend to discuss our complaint/concerns, he did inform us that Echo Beach Vacations had folded and that they were now using another company and transferring all their customers deposits over to the new one.
Contact Holiday VIPs for confirmation if you have not been able to get in touch with Echo Beach Vacations.

We did exactly the same thing and I've had the same frustrations trying to get through, I've emailed, called, written, faxed and contacted trading standards as I've also heard that Echo Beach have folded. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Holiday VIP's?

I dont know if I'm doing this right I suppose I will find out in due coarse, I sent a cheque to Echo Beach for �103.50 which was cashed and a letter with a holiday reference I cannot for the life of me get through either by telephone or email. I am going to try and find a site for Holiday vip on the net will let you know how I get on Thanks for the advice.
The presentation we went to was for Sunscene where we received the Echo Beach freebee, we also signed up for 2 weeks with the Club Labourse has anyone been on holiday with them or have had any problems with them?

I set up the same thing with Echo Beach, which have now folded (of course) and I've been told that Holiday VIPs are the people I need to call, which I have just done and spoke to Lucy. She has given me another number to call Echo Beach, for people like me who are have lost out on the promise of a 'free holiday' the number is 0161 9344182, so I'm going to try this now, I have no confidence it will work but I'm out of pocket by �69. I will let you know how it goes. I have just called the insolvency company that holiday vips' told me to call and was told 'that is life isn't it' when I said I'd lost out on �69 but have been given an address to write to to lodge a formal complaint. None of this will get me my money back though as the company has/had no assests. I'm FURIOUS. I'm also going to trading standards.

I have just telephoned the receivers who are dealing with Echo Beach admin charges refunds tel no: 0161 934 4182 they tell me E.B. have no assets at present but they did take my name and address and eventually I may get some if not all of my �103.50 back???
They cashed my cheque in Nov 04 and seemingly they went down in early dec 04.

I have telephoned 0161 9344182 and have been advised that echo beach vacations went into liquidation in Dec 04. However they cashed our cheque for �69.00 in June 04????
Been told we wont get money back since we are unsecure creditors, however we will be put on the creditors database.
FURIOUS!!!!!

I have paid �138 to Echo Beach and my cheque was cashed within a couple of weeks. I have today tried to call them and all the lines were dead. I then got hold of Shakespeare Classic Line with whom I purchased a timeshare and the girl there told me that the Director of her company was compensating people by offering them an alternative, but she didn't know what it was!!! I'm waiting for him to call me back.
Whilst waiting, I have found this page and called the number given by Rainbow, below and I spoke to Lucy at the liquidators. She is going to send me a list of creditors and has basically told me that they only recovered �9,000 worth of assets which will just about cover their liquidation costs.
Basically, don't bank on getting anything back!!!
