Thanks Fred. On the back of the cert. it says minimum payout 10% of the value (25k) and no more than 100%.
We were definitely told all money would come back, otherwise we wouldnt have joined. How would we go about withdrawing if we wanted to?

Wonderland - did you get the Points cert back as well? Have you paid any cash over?

Wonderland - I would be inclined to get back to TCA. They seem to have effective standard letters. I do think that you have ample grounds for cancelling on the basis of what you have said.
If you cancel the points should be returned to you. You could also contact the points issuer as they may not recognise the deal in any event.
If contacted by FVN say that you will deal with them only in writing.

Moodynight - We only know about the no cooling off period because I asked her what if he changed his mind, just as my hubby was about to sign (I didn't). It was only then she mentioned that there was no cooling off period. My hubby paid on his debit card so they would have taken his money more or less instantly. He has since changed his bank details so they can't help themselves to any more of his cash.
Thanks too to Er indoors for telling me what you put in our letter. Read up some very interesting stuff last night from the OFT and now know about the Doorstep regulations and their dirty psychological and pressure sales tactics they use to suck you in... Have also contacted a famous TV prog (consumer watchdog) about it...Perhaps you all should too - Safety in numbers and all that...

Fred 2 - have you looked at the complaint form on the ECC website. There are lots of options to consider in terms of grounds - i am sure some of those may apply.

Hi All, we received a warning letter today from Dawn telling us we are legally bound to pay up or they will take legal action (I'd like to see it lol) and enclosed copies of papers we signed etc - all of which is not worth the paper it is written on! We were advised by TCA to simply throw it away but I have put is in a folder with all the other papers. I am sure that some people would be very upset with such letters and feel that they had to pay. I feel sorry for them especially if they do not have others in the same boat to help them as we have on this website !

Hi Deedop,
My husband and I would be happy to back you with consumer watchdog if they are interested in this truly scum of the earth company.
Unlike others we have not had any contact from them even althought we have written, e-mailed and had a third party ask them to contact us.
We have requested n e-mail reply by this afternoon but doubt if we will get it!!!
