hi this hobbit again fogot to mention that we were told by another company that if you dont pay up the balance of the money they will sell your debt to a uk debt collector and they will get you in the uk. we cant stand the strain of all this , they also get you fill in a customer satisfaction slip. we were too worried about trying to get our money back if we asked them so ticked excellant on everything,so they would not think we were worried. and just added a note re people being given time to think it through, they say you can say no at any time but you try it.if we get help from our lawyer we will let you know. what orgs should we look at to help us further.these people are not timelinx but agents who buy a licence to sell from time linx, go to timelinx site and check it out. we were told these agents change their name every 35months and your contract is void anyway, is this true, does anyone know, has enyone had a good experiance with any of these companies including timelinx. we are sooooooo angry sorry to rabbit on!!

Have a look on the threads for Timelinx, Another Mug DWVC and anything with ILG as lots of people have gone through what you are obviously going through.

I do hope you can get your money back, it would have been easier if you had used a credit card.

Hobbits the opposition do read this forum. It might amuse them but it would be much more sensible if they paid attention to it and refunded to those who complain. They are on borrowed time.

Global are a marketer for Timelinx who sell Freedom Vacation Network - the holiday club seemingly independent but owned by Timelinx. DWVC is another and similar holiday club, not the same but also owned by Timelinx. There is a list here
www.timelinx.com/en/services/holiday_clubs/

The object is to distance the point of sale and hence the blame for mis-selling and dishonesty as far as possible from head office. The dishonesty here has been breathtaking.

Advice from TCA is always sound. You really should also make a formal complaint to the Office of Fair Trading who have an ongoing interest in Timelinx, and take it up with your local Trading Standards office.

read the club class thread, global vacations who are the marketters for freedom vactation networkwork and timelinx@miraflores resort costa del sol , are using the same tack re taking out a loan to cover the cost of the membership, also saying that in 51 months you can claim your money back to pay off the loan, they said at the moment ,REclaim who are the company they use are paying out 68%! looked on tca website to find that if the slightest mistake is made filling out the slip, they will not pay out anything anyway. there was an address spelling mistake on our "contract" which they said they would alter, but the did not, who in their right mind would sign twice. we have cancelled as per tca advice and already recieved phonecalls and an email. by the way we were shown reclaim on the uk companies house website, but its not thr reclaim that they use, they are reg in gibralter.

hobbit, sorry you have not had any more feedback from us, we have had the phone call trying to persuade us to pay, binding contracts and all that, also a postcard saying have lovely holidays, and a letter saying pay by.... (date missed off) !! or else. Have just trawled thru the other thread and read all the comments. Did you get told that The Sun newspaper "use us all the time" when you were at Miraflores? I have written to the Sun asking them what they know, no reply yet. We really did not know that we were not signing up with an english company as they showed us it on companies house web site, after being harrassed for so long it all seem to melt in to one. We were told that our sunterra points would offset the amount we had to pay,but we have had confirmation from sunterra today saying that it is illegal for any one else except for family to take over points, or another Sunterra member. Any reputable company would have known this. Also big selling point was we would have our money back in 4 years if we did not like it, through reclaim, and they would make sure that we applied properley to get this. Our Sunterra "value" could have been added to the reclaim cheque? Very strange it all seems now. No answer from Tesco our credit card company yet re the deposit we paid, we sent them copies of all the stuff. Will try to look on here more often to keep up to date.

Moodynight - the "we can buy your Sunterra points" is quite widespread. Sunterra' comment is as shown here
www.timesharetalk.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6124
and Sunterra ask that you let them know of any such approach so that they can do something about it.

In general - if you paid even part of a deal by credit card (or have finance from a UK company) go for them, and keep going for them. It's their problem and if they can't get the money from the overseas company it is their tough and NOT your problem. Their duty to make repayment to you under the Consumer Credit Act does not depend in any way on them being able to get the money back.

thanks moodynight and fred 2, we followed all the advice from tca and did send cancellation letter within the 7days. also emailed them . they rang us on the morning after they got the email, same thing , this is legal and binding, we were advised by sandy grey at tca not to talk to them , so I said we had been advised of this and hung up, then got shirty email, you cant get out of this we may take legal action etc.we did not know what we were signing , exactly the same as you , they showed us timelinx on companies house database, but also showed us reclaim on this site, very strange on the docs it says reclaim are regin gibralter.is this deception or what? the reclaim oncompanies house are NOT the reclaim they are using.they also did not mention a cooling off period and same as you as we thought we were dealing with a uk company, as we were enduced to believe thoughout the presentation, after we had signed we checked the length of the cooling off period with the person who was with us when we signed, (I dont want to name names for obvious reasons at this stage) she said there is no cooling off period. we have checked , if you were enticed off the street as we were with a scratchcard to have a look aroind miraflores resort, tac say you are covered by doorstep regs. in spain its called another name but basically the same. fred says they do watch these forums

moodynight ran out of space. we have passed our complaint to the spanish european consumer centre, who have confirmed that it is required by spanish law to give a 7 day cooling off period under their version of the doorstep regulations.you can call them on0034918224555 ask to speak to esther , she speaks good english. if you tell her who the company is she will explain the next step. they have taken our case and will try to pursue it for us.we feeel we were misled, they did not mention global vacations or freedom vacation network during the presentation. I didnot even have my glasses with me, so had to borrow my husbands to even enter my pin number. they asked us to leave our docs with them as they said the people where we were staying, mabella club didnt like them for taking their business and it would be better for us to pick them up when we left the resort. we had pointed out a spelling mistake on the contract and the accounts manager said she would have them alltered for when we collected thenm, but the did not change them, we think because we would have had to sign again and I think they knew we would not .it also says on the back of the contracr that the rules of membership to the club should be issued BEfore signing the contract. this was NOT done,Ive read somewhere on this site this is important.did? they with you?tca say not giving us our papers before we left is also possibly illeagal,at least thats what I thought theysaid. it does say the docs must be issued to you on the day but this might be on timelinx code of practice.but they are part of timelinx.try to keep in touch if you have news
