I have been approached on the phone by a person saying he belongs to ITRA wanting to buy my dormant Holiday club membership so it can be sold on.
A person would come to see us in the UK and we would hand over the Title Certificate and a refundable £850 by credit card followed shortly by us recieving what we paid for the membership.
Does this sound like a scam? I would appreciate any views.

jobill - this is an undoubted scam. You wouldn't see your money again. Don't give out card numbers - they can take money even without the security code. What is the name of the company which is a member of ITRA? ITRA is itself a fake "regulatory body" which was set up by ETOO and has the function of providing references for the members saying how good they are. These references are worthless.
Which holiday club?

I don't suppose that it has a resale value and, if it does, it will be very small.
I guarantee that it is a scam. Which company approached you? Members are here www.itra.net/itracods.asp several are probably not real, but the top three at least are nasty.

Thanks for your input Fred2
Been approached by a second company I hour ago, Global Properties but they did not want money upfront & told me that as the membership was dormant it was illegal for a resale company to sell it.
