We have experienced a similar scam with Holiday Warehouse Tenerife where we bought a Club Class membership.
The membership is for real but if you have been offered a reclaim facility, it doesnt happen.
We have found holidays cheaper via internet that going through Club Class.

We have recently been contacted by Travel Group SL re our reclaim facility from Holiday Warehouse advising they can put us in contact with a Consultant if we go over for a cost of 136.24 to help get our recalim.

I put a search on Travel Group SL and it came up with this watchdog link hence this e mail. We will not be sending anymore money.

Our experience is this is all a scam. Do not pay anymore money. You wont get any back if you have been offered a reclaim facility. We never got any paperwork and Holiday warehouse went bust.

I suggest that you re-post this on - and have a look at - the Club Class Concierge thread. Whether you have a chance of reclaiming the money depends to some extent what you were told when you joined. You have not been told that you will get it all back through cash back have you?

JOHNNYBEAR007

My parents got shafted in this scam about 5 years ago. Never received any 'cheap' holiday offers, and then when they tried to 'reclaim' their cash, were told some bull about the claim not being sent correctly.

They were then approached by the police in Gibraltar, who requested information as they were being investigated.

My mum then received a phone call last week from Karen at Travel Group SL, Tenerife, advising that if they were to pay 136.24 'consultancy fee', they could 'guarantee' to get their initial claim paid out!

Anyway, the letter of confirmation turned up yesterday, it states the fee to be paid first, and then goes on to say, 'that their accommodation will be SUBSIDISED' in order for them to stay for 1 week and meet with a consultant.

I can't believe that this company, not content with just ripping people off the first time round, are now trying to do it again!

I fel like getting a flight out there & marching upto their door & demanding to speak with someone, but I doubt it will get us anywhere.

Were you contacted by the police in Gib?

Bolger - I believe Thornton Ridge to be a scam in fact I am convinced of it. You will not be better off if you deal with them. In addition a Google search on their phone number shows it to be shared with Nationwide Land Estates which is undoubtedly a scam.

I would be inclined to go through all this with Trading Standards in the first instance and, in particular, to establish why Northern Rock are able to say that they cannot help you. How much is involved?

northern rock said that it,s a legal document that we signed and they cannot help they said my husband did loan over net.He did not they rang me organized by club class.Trading standards said they don,t think we will get any money back.We have been conned twice!! last year in malta we signed to club riza for 3,000 and then in july in portugal for 6,700 we told club class we already had holiday club and they said they would dissolve it for 750 we paid as they told us club riza would take us to court if we didn,t pay our maintanance yearly which was going up rappidly.I don,t mean to be rude butr are you genuine as I,ve been conned alot just recently and I,m abit wary who I.m supposed to talk to I apologize if you are..So now I haVE 2 HOLIDAY CLUBS AND NO MONEY AS THAY HAVE TAKEN OUR SAVINGS.I don.t know what to do as it scares me thinking they could take me to court and that these clubs will get passed on to my children and all the payments.

Bolger - exactly what did Club Class say that they would do about your original Holiday Club? Did they put it in writing? Have they done what they said they would do? Presumably not, if you are still tied to it.

Does the Northen Rock loan agreement (or any correspondence from them) state what the money was lent for?

Have you been given anything to do with CashBack?
