Well, you could try timeshare talk forum.
http://www.timesharetalk.co.uk/forum/ttportal.asp the people there may take your points off you.
One thing is for certain - you can only sell to another existing member.
You may also try contacting DRI themselvces at Citrus House.
Anyone who needs to take money up front is a scam - whatever they say.

fossil - I think the way out is to pay up your current maintenance obligations and either sell all the points on ebay or surrender them all as Maxwell says.. as if you have no points then you have no maintenance..
have a look for yourself on ebay at the sales of points and check the completed lisiting button to see how much they sold for and try to call the company to be sure as I wouldn't want to give false advise.. and it backfire

As FullMonty says - you CANNOT sell points (other than to an existing member) - on ebay, through a reseller or anywhere else.
What you CAN do is to convert your points to fixed weeks and sell the weeks. The info is all on the DRI web site in the FAQs.

Thank you for your information. However, despite three letters and four emails over the last three months I have not received any replies and cannot reach them on their phone number. Am I now free from maintenance payments or do I just ignore requests for payment? What else should I do?

I don't understand your message. Letters to whom? What have you done which makes you think that you are free of any liability?

Following instructions listed in letters above, I wrote letters to Diamond Resorts and emails requesting surrender of my timeshare week with them. I have received only reply emails saying that I will receive a reply within 5 working days but no aknowledgement of receipt or reply to my letters.I have complied with the requirements but have no proof of their acceptance. If I receive a request for payment of 2009 maintenace soon and do not pay it will that automatically end my "Club Membership"? My first letter was on 28th September my last was to Kimberly Francis Arkwright in a reply to their website be email asking me to contact her but still no reply from ther Owner Operations Dept.

I understand that a letter with a surrender offer was sent to members in May and that the offer was limited to 30 days. See
www.timesharetalk.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9707
Although this may have been extended I do not think that it was still running in September.
I am surprised that you have not had a response. Presume that your letter went to Diamond Resorts International, Customer Services, Citrus House, Caton Road, Lancaster, LA1 3UA. I can only suggest that you send a Special Delivery letter to them asking for clarification.
Your membership will not be ended by omitting to pay your fees.

Thanks for your help Fred2. I have just had telephone confirmation that my application is being processed and that I should receive a confirmation letter of my cancelled membership soon!Apparently they have a backlog of applications.

We too arelooking to cancelour membership with Diamond Resorts as we feel we were conned into buying our points last August 2008. We realise we are way over the 30 day deadline but ad we realised just how much this would cost us onour loan, we would never have bother with it.
We have not paid them anything yet and nor have we used the points - looks likely that we won't either in our current financial situation as this loan is killing us!
Any advice/help you can give would be very much appreciated.
