Voyager Holiday Scheme
We have returned from a holiday in the Canary Islands from the 26th January to 2nd February this year.
While walking by the sand dunes on the Tuesday we were offered this free scratch card and although we said No, the vendor scratched it off and we were told we had won a prize. We were driven in a free taxi to a hotel and treated to five hours of chat. Eventually we signed the papers. The special deal that we signed for was one thousand pounds now and six more payments to follow of five hundred pounds. I had never heard of these Holiday Schemes. The prize that we won was a free holiday in Tenerife by their company. We returned on the Friday, and asked if there was a cooling off period, and if so could we change our minds but the boss, PAUL, said NO, that did not exist out there
Because my husband is worried that we cannot get out of it, he thinks we should keep paying. My problem is my eyesight, I have Tunnel Vision and it is getting slowly worse. They were all aware of this, as I carried a white stick and walked into things like mirrors and walls. Do we keep paying?

well, well, well,
i would love some help from you guys who actually work for club greece/RCI.
Here the situation. I have recently accepted a job offer from CG to work as a rep at a resort in the north of crete. i will not be handing out flyers or scratch cards, but i will be a rep on the resort to effectivly 'butter up' the holiday maker to become a full member. I have 3 yrs sales exp. so i am acustomed to sales techniques etc.
I have been doing as much research as i can, and i am finding conflicting reports as to the ethics of this company. Heres the thing - if i get paid and well and on time for my hard work - then i have no problem - i do not though want to be selling a lie. so please is this full membership at 20k+ legit? and also how reliable are CG/RCI at getting me paid ontime and correctly? I feel this may be a massive opportunity for me to travel and have a great time, but i am hesitant, it feels like a massive risk also. I dont want to have spent my savings getting there and covering my living just to be ripped off.
A quick response would be much appreciated! Cheers in advance

oapcom, please read the advice above, and not post here just because it is the top thread. You will get a better response, and find more advice in the correct thread on Voyager, which can be found at
http://forum.holidaywatchdog.com/post720229.html?hilit=voyager#p720229
You were misinformed when told there was no cooling off period. Your transaction was covered under the Spanish 'Doorstop Selling Legislation', which gives you a 7 day cooling off period. You should cancel your agreement, make no further payments, and register a complaint with
UK European Consumer Centre:-
Tel: 08456 040503
E-mail: ecc@tsi.org.uk
Website: www.ukecc.net
Also complain to:-
Spanish consumer protection at cec@consumo-inc.es
and:-
Office of Fair Trading
Fleetbank House
2-6 Salisbury Square
London, EC4Y 8JX.
You should read what UKECC have to say about 'Bogus Holiday Clubs' here:-
http://www.ukecc.net/sub.asp?id=199
Please let us know how you get on, preferably in the Voyager thread, as detailed above.
Perhaps the forum moderators could move this post, and also the one which it responds to, to the correct 'Voyager' thread?

Has anyone heard of MJD agencies (based in Forteventura. I was contacted "out of the blue" about 2 weeks ago as I was asked if I wanted to sell my timeshare (I have three weeks but I have a 1 bed that I wanted to sell) I said I was not going to pay anything up front but agreed they could contact me if and when they found a buyer.
I had a call yesterday from a Susan Taylor who said they had a buyer (Travel Group) who had offered £3,000 which I accepted. Now comes the scam (or maybe not)as they want 600 euros as a deposit. I know that under Spanish law the intermediary MJD can only act if there is an exchange of money.
She sent me through a contract which I asked to be ammended as one of the conditions was not fair and then spoke to a John Watson who agreed to ammend the contract.
I note that Katy40 had sent 1200 euros in mid February but has anyone else any expewrience before I commit
Thanks
Roger

Contact out of the blue+deposit up front+unrealistic offer+non-existent travel group = Scam.
You will send your money and their buyer will drop out.
Ask them for a deposit to make sure their buyer does not drop out.
Give them the wrong credit card number and see how long it takes them to ring you back.
This is what will happen.
1. You will send them the deposit.
2. The buyer will pull out
3. They promise to market it for a year
4. Just before the year is up you will be offered a chance to buy into another holiday club.
5. This will constitute an offer.
6. You lose your money.
