 Hello I also have had a call a few weeks ago, advising me I have won a guarenteed holiday to either Majorcia or the Algarve, through Costa Holidays . My partner and I have to travel to Bluewater to recieve our free holiday and we only have to pay admin fees per person. holiday up tp four people. After My loss of money with Unbeatbale holiday .com I thought okay maybe, if I can get a cheap holiday..but I know that there will be a hard sales person trying to sell me timeshares of some sought. After working in Telesales prievioulsy myself I saw on the kent jobs website that they were looking for hard sale Tele-canvassers in Greenhithe working for Costa holidays.. .
My appointment I cancelled but they have rescheduled for the 26th august.. should I go or stay? I think I'll Give it a miss..
Any thoughts on this let me know..

Have just received the phone call with the "great news". Don't think of touching this even with someone else's barge pole.

My family and I came across holiday club hard sell for the first time on a recent holiday in Rethymnon, Crete. We lost almost three hours of our holiday and my young son was bitterly disappointed when he realised we had been lied to and that the 'free' holiday we had 'won' turned out to be nothing more than a dubious voucher entitling us to a week's accommodation without food or travel in return for administration fee of 130GBP...
The whole holiday club concept is a particularly cynical attempt to sidestep timeshare legislation and anyone unwittingly lured into the holiday club trap has my utmost sympathy. For those yet to experience the holiday club hard sell the advice is to steer a wide berth. If in doubt access the excellent crimeshare website.

Hi there
I received a call from someone from Hospitality Scotland two weeks ago telling me I had won a free weeks holiday flights and accommodation. I then received assurance from the girl that this was not any sales technique and that no time share company were involved. Within a week I received a letter with details of where to go and when to claim my holiday and 25 Marks and Spencer vouchers. I read letter carefully and no mention was made of anything regarding holiday ownership or timeshare.
Myself and my family went along last night to the Duchally Country House hotel for this presentation. On arrival we saw six or seven other couples. A girl approached and asked me to complete a form confirming our identity. A few minutes later we were a approached by a gentleman called Chris who took us through to the bar area for a coffee and a chat. It was at this time the words sales presentation were mentioned and Chris was under the impression we were aware of this but we explained we were not.
After what seemed like a marathon two and a half hours we were taken back through to the table where we were at the start of the night and joined by the manager bill who proceeded to hound and barrage us with figures and demands. This man was a bully and very very arrogant and once it was obvious we were not going to purchase anything he disappeared. We received our holiday voucher and Marks and Spencer voucher and shown the door.
On further inspection of this holiday voucher we discovered that it is in fact not free at all but we would have to pay a admin fee of 49.50 per person so for four of us that would be 198 and also airport fees of 29 per person which is 116 therefore in total it would cost us 314 plus food and spending money. So much for a free holiday. I have tried to contact Hospitality Scotland regarding this but to no avail.
Please be aware of this scam holiday and do not attend any presentation.

Has anyone actually been on the free holiday?
Is there anyway of taking advantage of this by attending the holiday and not signing up for the points?
They also state in the literature that you have to reconfirm your departure at least 48 hours before leaving. Is this so that if you haven't signed up for the club they can charge you a getaway fee?

Hi there
I managed to speak to a nameless manager at hospitality scotland last night who as she said was appaled by what we had gone through. That was only for the first 30 seconds then she went on to argue with me that I knew what I was getting into because the girl who first called me explained it all in detail. I also explained to her that in no uncertain terms was thisa free holiday due to all the fees we would need to pay a total of which is 314. She said this was standard pracrise with all holiday prizes.
I have emailed them today and will update when they reply.

They've obviously been quiet for a while... but we have just had a call from Hospitality Scotland saying that my husabnd and I had won a weeks luxury holiday (flights included) in either Spain, Turkey or the Canary Islands.
I had filled in a form at the Edinburgh Taste Festival (where they claimed that the winner would be sent to their dream destination) - we didn't win but were told we were one of the runners up.
We have been asked to attend a presentation to choose our resort (as there are 29 possible destinations to choose from) in Auchterarder on 1st July and that confirmation of our prize will be sent out to us first class tonight, the only catch was that we have to pay a 49pp admin fee and that we recommend the company to family and friends. When I asked if this had anything to do with time shares, I was assured that they had nothing to do with them.
I thought it sounded too good to be true and am glad I found this website as now I know it is. We won't be attending the presentation and I am going to be getting in touch with Taste and alert them to this scam!

I filled in a form at the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston to win a luxury prize holiday. (wish I hadn't, but you know how it is). My husband took a call from 'Hospitality Scotland' but the caller didn't say what it was in connection with, just that I'd filled out a form at the Show.
The next evening someone called Luke phoned and asked if I'd thought about the holiday destinations. I told him I didn't know what he meant, he said he'd told my husband all about it - the choice of destinations (Spain, Turkey, Canaries, Austria) etc for the week's luxury holiday for four I'd won. Alarm bells rang then because I knew my hubby would have told me all this. Anyway, I agreed to go to Auchterarder next Thursday evening 'to be shown what sort of accommodation we would be staying in'.
Having Googled the organisation, I came across this and am so glad. I am normally quite a cynical person and don't easily get drawn into these scams so had planned to take the 'prize' and resist the sales pressure. Don't think I'll go now. When 'Luke' calls back, I'll tell him I've been doing some research...
