Dear bspshirley

Many thanks for sharing your story with us. You had a "fun" day with them then - I think not!! :) As we thought it was a scam.

Like you I would like to sell my timeshare but am not desperate. I bought at a resort I knew well and have spent many happy hours there over the years. A weeks rental costs far more than my yearly maintenance and even taking the initial purchase price divided by my years of ownership I think I have had good value for money.

Is there anybody out there who has had a good experience of selling?

Does any one know of any legit companies that if we decided to sell would be interested or are there only scams.

SOL BOOKERS Has got to be a con industry in its own right. I have been coned 3 times by these crooks. I was cold called by them To say that they had a buyer on hand to buy my timeshare. I paid them £1300 refundable deposit. On signing and returning the receipt It would appear thatb I had locked myself into a contract for a year. Yet they were supposed to have a cash buyer on hand. I contacted HSBC/ Mastercard they clawed back the payment with the proviso that if Sol bookers applied within 40 days they would have to pay them from my account. They reclaimed the funds on the 38 day. I then waited for one year and no buyer was fourth comming so I requested from Sol Booker my refundable deposit only to be told I was in breach of contract as I had sold my timeshare
and therefore forfeted my deposit. Needless to say I still have my timeshare. I was contacted by a company called Graystoneleasure who had a buyer right there in there office I, like a real mug paid them a refundable deposit of £1,000
after I had paid I knoticed the address on both Sol Bookers and Graystone receipts were the same.Ihave since learned that the Welsh TV progrm The Ferret Has been investigating these companies selling worthless property in the UK. The company secretary of Sol Bookers Is the father of the companies owner And lives in Acton Wrexham. Finally a couple of weeks ago I was cold called by a company who made a great play that they werev based in the UK and regestered with the FSA (they said) Called Hansard World Wide ltd. (Brookers for Hrliquin) They had a buyer on hand who was wanting to buy my timeshare. I said send the cash by currier that ( I would pay for) and I would exchange it for my timeshare deeds ands guarentee the maintennce was up to date confermed by the resort. Not good eniough I had to travel to there offices atWood Ridings Church Farm nr Merriden Warickshire cv7 7hn.For a face to face transaction witnessed by reps from Hansard direct.Needless to say there was no buyers and Hansard had no interest in time share , my timeshare was vertually valuless. But they then spent the following 2 hours in the hard sale mode selling me property in St. Lucia. My advice to every one is the crooks that offerv to buy your time share will always take money off you. So what ever yarn they spinn you! when it is your turn to part with money or your deeds then STOP dont do it!

dont touch them with a barge pole, they said they had a buyer for my timeshare but needed 990euros retainer to safegaurd the sale, but after a couple of weeks they said the buyer couldnt raise the funds but wouldnt return the money.after no contact for months i eventually got through to them and they said they had a corporate buyer and if i sent them 1200 euros they said that this sale wouldnt fall through as it was a "corporate buyer" but i refused to send them anymore money. they said i was in breach of contract and would then forfiet the money i gave them. i would really love to swear right now as i know they have conned me.
im afraid you cant trust anyone in the timeshare business.

Hi. I went to a 'Timeshare Sales' meeting at Crowborough yesterday.(Hansard), and was, inspite of being reassured that 'NOTHING WOULD BE ASKED OF US' i.e. buy into another holiday, or 'Timeshare' etc. or be asked to part with any money!, we were asked to 'BUY INTO PROPERTY IN ST.LUCIA' etc. as an investment for 'apartments' etc. being built there.

We said, "so you will not take our Timeshare from us until we have parted with money", which they said would be given back once they had 'cleared us' credit wise".

What do you make of that?. Would be interested in anyone who has had a similar experience, or seen this as a 'great investment'.

Thanks.
