Hi There,
Thank you all so much for the information regarding this scam; we popped along to the presentation in Exeter and had a chuckle at the hard sale techniques they attempted to use. We had a guy with a false leg who, having sat down, proceeded to unclip it because it was uncomfortable. He spent most of the time going on and on and on about himself and his family......his wife is a civil servant, he's just bought a boat, his son works in a top hotel in America, he nearly died...twice.....yawn yawn yawn what a lot of tosh!!!!! There was also some hyper active women who resembled a deliquent on speed oh and then we caught a glimpse of the manager....now one would expect a well presented person who had an air of authority and knowing about them - nope, she was a vertically challenged roly poly female who looked like she'd dressed in clothes deemed no good by the charity shops. Hey Ho it gave us something to laugh about over tea.
Big Smiles, Lyn

We went to presentation today just to get our 49 holiday, and not intending to buy into anything, we didn't but we did spend a very boring morning listening to a very boring man trying to get us to buy points for "luxury holidays" that would cost nearly 12,000. When we refused to join the club the lady completely changed her tune with us. We were told on the phone that we wouldn't have to pay anthing up front only 49.99 each when we received our holiday confirmation, when we received our leaflet at the end it asks you to send off your cheque with the voucher, after reading all your coments we will not be parting with a penny. Very disappointing, we won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Hi Have read with interest the previous threads. We went along to check out the scam and were shocked to find out what it was. We are near misses, not that ever intended to go and buy anything. Carol she was called - friendly and stupid! She made the mistake of overstepping the mark when we said NO. We couldn't afford it! she assumed to our faces. On arriving home we calculated the 60 points we would need to purchase would cost us 30,000+ over many, many years, largely because of the loan supplied by Barclays bank at 12.9%. This is a warning to everyone we think - dont go there. The 10 bought us a sandwich based lunch at M+S and days great natter about the whole experience!
Folks if you wanna go on holiday do it at a travel agent or with a bone fide internet outfit.

Hi evryone - again.

With the advice of the Government Office consumer affairs - 08454 040506 - I have written a succession of letters to Sugar Reef. Only one has been acknowledged with a holding reply. So, now off to court or Moneyclaim online. It'll cost a court fee but I'm game to give it a go. Wish me luck and I'll keep you all updated.
At least our joint comments have prevented at least 3 other families being conned out of their cash and that itself is very gratifying. Well done you lot for having enough sense to look up the company first!

See ya.

I think it would be really interesting to see how you get on with moneyclaim online.

My own experience - as it was with the Small Claims Court - is that companies do give in!!!

As the Sugar Reef scam is connected to Buena Viva and Leisuretime, can all those who want to join a group who have all been conned and want to fight back, look on the Buena viva thread and find Jint's email address and make contact. Thanks.

We went to the presentation out of curiosity. As we have come across many of these type of things over the years. I don`t think we suited them really.

We were told by the person giving the presentation "that she had seen more ladies fannys than any of the blokes there" as she was a former theatre nurse. Well I`m sure she is no great loss to the nursing profession, and it probably would be best if she was struck off anyway.

She eventually gave up on us, and concluded that the product was not for us because "we didn`t know what we wanted from a holiday", we did it just wasn`t what she was offering, and we told her that two hours previously.

We went to the presentation in Exeter yesterday - I know we should have know better - but having been told "It is not time share" decided to go. Within minutes of getting there we were well aware it was time share and sat through the presentation having no intention of parting with any money - I get sea sick on a boating lake so why would I want to spend a week on a boat !!!!!! - We saw the "lady" described in an earlier thread as being vertically challenged, roly poly, dressed in clothes that would be rejected by a charity shop as she drove off in her 08 reg Audi RS8.

Again we were told that no payment would be needed until we had our holiday booked but on being given the voucher was told to fill it out and send the admin fee off within 14 days - No chance !!!!!!!

Wish I had found this forum earlier as we could have saved ourselves 21/2 hours being treated as if we were stupid for not wanting to part with money. Still did get a £10 M&S voucher so dinner one night this week will be on them
