Hi,
Has any one heard of "Global Travel Networks"
I (stupidly!) purchased - I mean won a membership to travel emporium a couple of years ago. I think i paid about £180. I didn't hear off them again until they were apparently taken over by whoever and I was awarded a free lifetime membership. I had emailed them and phoned them over the course of the two year membership but I never got any of my free holidays or any information I requested. When they wrote to me informing me of my lifetime membership they also stated I could "sell" my membership so I replied stating this would be my prefered option.
Within days I was contacted by Leisure Time Marketing who wanted an up front fee. The woman kept phoning me night and day but luckily I found this website and when I told her what I had found out she was verbally abusive and hung up on me.
I thought that was the end of it but this week I have been contacted by "Global Travel Networks" who want £1200 upfront. They have phoned three times so far and they are saying I have got nothing to loose because if i pay by credit card my money is protectd!
I Have no intention of handing over any money but just wanted to warn everyone about the latest company name.
The Travel Emporium
We too bought into the travel emporium never managed to book any holidays then when membership about to lapse we were telephoned telling us that the essential travel club had bought them out. We said not interested in renewing membership as we never used it. We were then told we could sell it but the account had to be active. Stupidly we renewed now we are trying to sell but it seems like so many others we have been scammed. We have been contacted by Excaliber sales & marketing saying they have a buyer and we could get £6,900 for our membership but guess what they want 1,200 euros reservation fee when I said I did not have that sort of money the man said he may be able to help with a lower fee. HAS ANYBODY HEARD OF EXCALIBER SALES & MARKETING?

I read with great interest - Yes "Excalibur Sales & Marketing" rang me today -16 April.
I see similarities with my own experience with TE & ET. The renewal of annual fees, 1200euros, offer of £7,000 etc., I deferred the payment and told them to ring back, I later rang them on the Spanish Telephone Number they gave me, just to confirm the phone No. was legitimate.
The company involved in this case claims to be selling my holiday club membership, which I put up for re-sale.
I have grave concerns reading these posts and the fact that they want money up-front.
I suppose luck would have it that, I didn't have the money in the account and as of today I'm back on the internet and was able to check this out.
Has anyone genuinely sold thier membership and if so who with?
