Won a free holiday? Suspicious? This is the place for you!

I have been cold called this week by a company called Travel Temptations based in Spain. They are offering me a loyalty card which they claim gives me the right to book travel and hotels at travel agent rates.

Before I sign up for this can anyone offer up their own experience as to whether this is a genuine offer on Temptations part. It seems a very good deal but I subscribe to the believe that 'if it seems to good to be true then it usually is'. That said, I do like to be proved wrong on occasion.

Independent travel agents (fewer and fewer of them) work on commission. So the holiday person pays let's say £1,000 the agent gets a slice of that depending on the rate.

But it will not amount to a huge saving - you could negotiate better with an agent yourself if you are a frequent raveller.

I am prepared to bet it's a con.

Travel temptations have given me what they promised cheaper flights and accomadation. Very helpfull staff giving me help and advice and even offering to accompany me to the bank to transulate after problems cropped up during my visit. They also arranged an appointment for me to meet an english speaking lawyer during my recent visit to Spain. The accomadation booked by them was within 5 minutes of my relitives apartment after I gave them the address could not have been better. Very happy with them and will be contacting them next trip abroad. Comunication could be improved but if you want to save money worth ringing back and checking every thing in hand. We in England expect to snap our fingers and things happen they are based in Spain and things do happen but not as quick as in UK

When we were in Benidorm in October Last year we bought a platinum loyality card from Travel Temptations.
I had a lot of problems getting through when i returned home and left quite a few messages eventually I then I sent an email stating I had read the emails people had put on re Travel Temptations. The next day Travel Temptations rang me and asked what I required they kept in contact for a few days until I accepted an offer and paid for a holiday on the 12th December I got confirmation of my holiday which is in May 09 back to Benidorm. To date no tickets have arrived. I have tried ringing but no-one has gotten back to me

Understanding that my family could also use this service.I asked them to price a trip to Cyprus for my sons wedding which would have been for 8 people and 4 children A gentleman from the company promised he would contact me But it never happened we ended up booking the trip ourselves on the internet. I did not pay £1000.00 in the hope they could help me they made a promise they would I am staying hopeful that the tickets will arrive if not I dont know what to do. Jackie

Hi! Just another victim of Alvita Holidays & Connections6 in Tenerife. Thanks God I was adviced by the office in Madrid of the Organisation for Timesharing in Europe (OTE) - enforcement@otemadrid.com - how to deal successfully with my credit card company a couple of weeks ago. Send your complaints to the previous email. Do not forget to include all the correspondence you have: contract, e-mails, proof of payment and a written summary of your case, if you want OTE to take on your case seriously. They were very helpful!!! The Spanish Police, Policia Nacionel, in Tenerife is right now collecting evidences of victims of the fraudulent activities of three companies involved in selling Connections6: Alvita Holidays / Vacations, and two others I haven´t dealt with Worldwide Connections and Horisuns, I was told. OTE is in direct contact with the Police in Tenerife. Good luck!!!

Bonnie 1, how long have you worked for Travel Temptations?

These people give themselves away every time. One post within 45 minutes of signing up with very poor English and spelling, and with nothing bad to say.

Do you really think we are that stupid?

I have been confirmed that the office of Connections 6 in Los Cristianos, has been closed down. The European Consumer Centre in Madrid, is now the EU agency collecting the cases of victims of Connections 6 with Alvita Holidays / Vacations and two other companies, I haven´t dealt with: Worldwide Connections, and Horisuns. From now on do not send your cases to the Organisation for Timesharing in Europe (new name: RDO - www.rdo.org ).

The European Consumer Centre in Madrid is now the leading consumer agency coordinating the case with the Spanish Policia Nacionel in Tenerife against Connections 6, and the companies selling it down in the island, I was told . Send your complaints to
http://cec.consumo-inc.es/cec/Secciones/Contacta/Contacta_en.asp . They speak good English. Good Luck!

I have been persuaded to hand over £300 to Travel Temptations ,with promise of 2 free cruises.
Has anyone out there actually received a free cruise from this outfit as I have been pestering them for7 weeks and they seem to be full of excuses ,but no cruise vouchers.

I have now been waiting 10 weeks for the promised cruise vouchers and find it amusing to listen to their excuses when I phone to enquire aboutthe missing vouchers.
It is just a pity it has cost me £300 to enjoy te joke, but beware everybody because this outfit are just full of excuses and I think they are not people you should get involved with!

BEWARE !!!! TRAVEL TEMPTATIONS IS DEFINETLY A SCAM, DO NOT JOIN UP OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. I KNOW THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS COMPANY AND YOU WILL GET NOTHING IN RETURN. MEMBERS OF THEIR STAFF ARE POSTING ON THIS FORUM IMPLYING THAT THEY ARE CUSTOMERS WHO ARE RECEIVING A GOOD SERVICE. THATS HOW LOW THESE SHARKS ARE. TELL ALL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO AVOID THEM AND IF YOU VISIT BENIDORM BEWARE POF THEM. THEY ARE ONLY OUT TO GET YOUR WELL EARNED MONEY. BE WARNED!!!!!
