I am amazed at how many obviously highly intelligent people really do believe that there is such a thing as a free lunch. On a recent "holiday club" presentation in Tenerife I told the guy I would go to an internet cafe, check up on his company and his offer and come back to them. If the offer of anything for nothing is genuine, or otherwise, there will be thousands of reviews saying so. I just typed in "scratch cards" and tenerife and "holiday club" - bingo! I did the right thing and understand why they had us out of the back door like room 101!! No matter where you are in the world an internet cafe is only minutes away these days. Don't give way to these people - remember, they target pensioners and the disabled as well as the able bodied. Whether it is a telephone offer or a scratch card there is no merit in hindsight to teach you a lesson. A recent telephone offer to me for a cheapo holiday left me amazed - given my telephone number is Ex-Directory. When I demanded to know how they got my number they hung up!
These high pressure sales people are totally unprepared for those who get cross, question and demand answers. It is not part of their training. Treat them as the scum bags they are. NEVER tell anyone you have a credit or debit card with you, you do not believe in them, and your cheque book with bank details are always left at home for safety reasons.
If you have to ask if something might be a scam - rest assured it probably is.
Use your Internet - There is no such thing as a free lunch!!
