Van Gogh Promotions - Tenerife

I joined RC van gogh points on 13th May this year in Las Americas on Tenerife.
Yes they were very matey - we signed up because they actually arrived at our apartment that evening (three of them!) and ,as we read that we could cancel no problem, we signed up to get rid of them as we had already suffered a 4 hour hard sales pitch. (Also we did want to have time to consider the programme - what a mistake!!)
We signed up with van gogh promoties nv but the transaction came through with as Bel Air as the payee.
After we cancelled they told us that the cancellation had been accepted but our money had gone to Holiday Solutions - a package they gave us as a free gift along with the bottle of champagne and 2 t-shirts!!
This time the money had been paid to Kigirlo Servicios - owners of holiday solutions.
No progress so far. I have contacted the 4 companies and had automated response from 2 of them.
Nothing from the c redit card co. yet - apparently my 1st letter was never received so I have just sent of copies of all the documents again.
I can imagine that this is going to be a long process!

will update as - and if - I get further information

Re Fizzy

We are both dealing with the same company Van Gogh Promoties at Belair and exactly the same thing happened to us. when we cancelled.

We have also sent all our details to our credit card company and they said they will get back to us in five days (Mastercard)

I will keep you posted

We have heard off OTE now and they said they are contacting Van Gogh Promotions on our behalf and they would contact us in the meantime. Had not contact off either party so are proceeding with the route of getting the money back from the bank. The bank said they would look into it all and pass all the details on so the company could be looked at. Whether they will or not, will have to wait and see.

Anyone else had anymore happening with the company? or still waiting to be contacted?

Copied in Holiday Solutions into email to Van Gogh asking for advice as Van Gogh are ignoring us
Connie Pearce (email holiday solutions at cs@h-ventures.com )replied that Holiday Solutions do not want to be represented by van Gogh and they don't have a contract to do business with them.

They have had a number of complaints and she just refered me to the OTE

Where has my money gone to if Holiday Solutions don,t want the business

Still waiting for credit card company to sort out

Dont know whats happening with anything at the moment but will keep you posted about it all as they should not be able to get away with this. Although I know that a lot of them do.

Also just passing this on as just come back from America, Orlando and there doing the same there. Theyve probably done this for years. They are offering cheap park tickets and you have to go to a 90 minute presentation. I soon as they said that we ran a mile!! not going down that route again, im sure there are legitimate companies out there but all these companies are giving them a bad name.

We were in Las Americas in January 2008 and paid Van Gogh some money on our credit card while there and completed the payment on return to UK. Before we completed the payment, we were getting calls from the agent we used-very matey people indeed. Just after the money went through, I got an email from our contact-Patrick Van Der Speeten, saying that their land lines had problems and gave a mobile number. It's now over 2 months and we still have not heard from him or RCI whom he said will be sending our documents through. Any idea what we should do? I've called RCI(UK), they initially told me that it could take up to 6wks, but now they are saying they do not have agents in Playa de Las Americas.

hi ama, thats what happened to us, they offered us the holiday solutions package and they said this company have said they have no contract with Van Gogh. You will need to contact OTE, look on their website. They are dealing with our case at the moment so if they get more cases with the same details it might get them to look at it more closely. Then contact your bank as try and get the money back from them. hope this clear for you. if not then contact me again.
