Nothing about this lot here - a little on Timeshare talk - so here is my experience.
Contacted today by a Jonathon Lloyd from Warehouse Properties - based in Spain.
Standard chat, "Hello Mr.... - what is your first name? - may I use it? " (Yes) "You contacted us 18 months ago" (really?) "you would have had a letter withis reference - you have been waiting a long time, we have an offer of..." (large amount). No fees, we get commision on the sale blah blah" Then came the sneaky bit. "W£e want you to be completely happy, the timeshare industry has a bad name" (too right) "so when you get the contract, before you sign anything, we want you to take it to CAB or your solicitor" (Hmmm - sounds re-assuring)
"But we do need a credit card number as a bond" (Well, what a surprise).
So after I explained that I would not, he got a bit agitated, made a bit of a slip and called me "mate" (not in your dreams..!), but corrected himself (I was 'sir' after that) and explained that they have £120,000 in bond with Visa and mastercard etc etc and that if I didn't sign the credit card slip nothing would happen blah blah.
So standard scam, slight twist.
From the timeshare talk forum, it seems that these guys are linked with Travelworld Worldwide - an outfit I have had dealings with, and about whom I will post in due course. Their reputation isn't good either!
Bottom line, if you are approached by this lot - eventually they will want an up front fee, however reassuring they are trying to be.
And I have no doubt that had I given the cc number, the money would be taken, and retrieving it would not have been straightforward.
The contact telephone they gave was 0845 6800858
The background noise suggested a busy office - I suspect it was just a desk on a 'sales deck'. Their website www.warehouseproperties.eu
gives that number, and the postal address is a PO Box Office in Malaga.

They are certainly linked to Travelworld Worldwide (and Travelworld Spain) - they share a fax number.

Interesting to read your mail. Have just had exactly the same conversation with Jonathan Ross who has "had our property up for sale for 15 months ago and it has been in about ten presentations". (We don't remember asking him to market it.) Told me my solicitor did not know what he was talking about regarding not giving credit card details up front!

Logically - if they couldn't take any money without the security code then the card number on its own would be of absolutely no use to them as a bond.
They can of course take the money and do so within seconds of putting the phone down.

I have with another company - Real Escape - you may want to look at that thread. basically I received the contract with the unsigned credit card slip. I rang the company and said I didn't wish to proceed and was told that "I had to cancel the contract by registered letter" and confirmed that they would keep 20% in accordance with the contract. I pointed oput that I hadn't signed, but the guy said I had a verbal contract with them!!
I sent an e mail to them stating that I didn't wish to proceed, then sent the unsigned contract, credit card slip and copy of the e mail to my CC company, and the amount was refunded, backdated to the date of the original transaction. This all took place within the week.
As I said, this was with Real Escape - but I have little doubt that this lot would be similar.

Zafira, send the cancellation e mail now. You may find that your CC disputes team will be working tomorrow morning anyway - don't forget it is a Bank Holiday weekend though.

Zafira - you need to cancel by international signed-for letter so that you can prove it. Copy the letter and e-mail to your credit card company with a covering letter saying something like - the card information was given solely to permit the seller to prepare the credit slip. You did not give nor did the seller ask for authority for the payment to be taken in advance of the signed slip being returned to them. The card security number was not given and you are amazed that the cc company permitted the debit. You have not returned the slip therefore the seller has no authority to take money. You have cancelled in writing within the distance selling time limit and, in the absewnce of a voluntary refund from the seller you expect a full and immediate clawback of the amount. Send by special delivery.
